It is amazing to me that some people let their politics triumph their family relationships.

I also find it amazing that people feel the need to post when they decide they are done with family over politics.

What am I missing?

To show how devoid they are of any consciousness, soul, understanding, compassion, and intelligence.

To be a leftist lunatic, is to wallow in your own degredation by continually showing the world what a useless piece of shit you truly are.

Well, I would prefer you put some of that in specifics.

For instance, I do wonder how people follow this line.

1. I am going to interpret your vote on a personal level (making stuff up)
2. That hurts me.
3. Therefor I am cutting you off.

It's that step 1 that really concerns me.

Social Media allows narcissistic idiots to broadcast their idiocy to a wide audience.

Ok, but first........

How old are you?
Did you graduate school?
Did you go to college? If so, what for?

I could give you generic answers if you want, but a personal explanation is available.

But it will have to wait, I have to get to an appointment right now.

When I watch some of this stuff, I hear fear in many cases.

It seems the media and influencers are forcing people into dark corners.

Soulless NPCs doing soulless NPC things.

We tell young people the planet will be destroyed.
We have seen families get smaller and smaller, and more often broken, removing the support structures found in them.
We tell them norms shouldn't exist, and that reality can be bent to what a person wants it to be.

No wonder we have more and more of this.

The short answer "people are weird and desperate to find friends with a Groupthink mentality".

I've learned a great deal about human nature in my lifetime, especially across the last 10-12 years. I am not confident in the long term survival of our species.

Species in nature that survives and thrives is almost always that which possesses the most courage, unless they are on the bottom of the totem pole and then avoiding conflict is ideal.

To be afraid of someone elses ideological opinion is not an element of courage...

It's OK to be afraid of the consequences of some political views/systems, the problem is when you can't even hear them without falling apart.

100% agree

My family members are all over the political spectrum. I could care less about politics when we're together. Drink beer and let the good times roll. I certainly would never not speak to anyone over political differences. That is just insane.

While I agree, I just can't understand why they take to social media to excoriate family and "drum them out".

Maybe it's a way of expressing grief about how far they have fallen as a person.

Or it could be just how stongly they feel about the loss.

I just don't see how it helps anything unless they are looking for reinforcement from others who have done the same.

Yeah, I don't get that either. I like my privacy and airing family grievances in public is something I would never do. Why the hell should I bore anyone with my family problems, they've got their own!

For me it seems the hard lefties are the ones most likely to use social media to rant and rave about their politics.

The ration is about 4 to 1, lefty ranting to righty ranting.

Turning people against people, destroying the nuclear traditional family, putting politics ahead of family, etc. is all part of the leftist plan to destroy traditional culture that has made us the greatest nation that has existed on Earth. They intend to destroy all that so they can replace it with Marxist totalitarianism.

I think that's a bit over the top.

First, the things they say are often disjointed and incoherent. I don't see it as part of a plan.

Maybe you were referencing something else.
