My, what a great response. You really addressed the issue there

Al Franklin is an over-all success – and he does his thing with class. No, “Shut up. Shut up. Shut up” and no pay-off for charges of sexual harassment and phone sex.

Al Freakin a successs? He is now an unemployed radio talk show host isn't he? His former employer, the liberal radio network, went bankrupt

Perhaps when a liberal talk show has half the stations Rush or Sean has - then you can say he/she is successful

Actually, Al Franken left Air America to make a run against Norm Coleman (R-MN) for the US Senate in '08.

As far as talk radio, let's look at a few facts, shall we ?

Among radio formats, the combined news/talk format (which includes news/talk/information and talk/personality) leads all others in terms of the total number of stations per format and trails only country music in terms of national audience share. Through more than 1,700 stations across the nation, the combined news/talk format is estimated to reach more than 50 million listeners each week.

As this report will document in detail, conservative talk radio undeniably dominates the format:

* Our analysis in the spring of 2007 of the 257 news/talk stations owned by the top five commercial station owners reveals that 91 percent of the total weekday talk radio programming is conservative, and 9 percent is progressive.
* Each weekday, 2,570 hours and 15 minutes of conservative talk are broadcast on these stations compared to 254 hours of progressive talk—10 times as much conservative talk as progressive talk.
* A separate analysis of all of the news/talk stations in the top 10 radio markets reveals that 76 percent of the programming in these markets is conservative and 24 percent is progressive, although programming is more balanced in markets such as New York and Chicago.

This dynamic is repeated over and over again no matter how the data is analyzed, whether one looks at the number of stations, number of hours, power of stations, or the number of programs. - The Structural Imbalance of Political Talk Radio

What are so many so called 'conservatives' afraid of? Conservative talkers have 91% of the market, progressive/liberal talkers have 9%. If their message is so true, so right, why are they worried about a little competition? Because they know the spew they pour out onto the PUBLIC airwaves, while it canotains a modicum of truth, that truth only serves to give the lies they spew some semblance of credibility. The conservative talkers know that, thanks to the Bush administration, their agenda has been set back years, if not decades.

Conservatives are not afraid. Conservatives still destroy libs on the radio. We are pointing out how libs want to limit free speech

If conservative talk radio has been set back, then the numbers for Dead Air Amercia should be going up - they aren't

BTW, Al left Dead Air America because he knew they could no longer to afford his salary

and you admit that a conservative bias exists on radio?

Libs will not discuss the issues on talk radio - it is endless attacks. That is all libs can do since they are wrong on many of the issues

That is why there are no successful libs on the radio

I will gladly accept successful libs controlling the dialog on television and let conservatives control the dialog on radio. are you OK with that?

*Sigh* I don't suppose you have ANY supporting documentation to back that up? A rhetorical question, as you never do.

And, just one example, where Laura Ingraham and Stephanie Miller go head to head in the same market, Stephanie Miller wins.

There are many successfull libs on talk radio. Just not that are nationally syndicated like RUSH. There are many states that have local liberal talk radio stations. Just because they are not National does not mean they are not successful in their own regions. You really need to get out more.

Hey look everyone, I found an article that supports my point of view. I now decare this article as FACT..And if you don't like it then you must be another liberal that just cannot deal with the FACTS. Because this is a factual article, it complies with what I believe therefore it is true !!!!! If you wish to question me I will just label you another looney lefty liberal who just cannot deal with facts when presented to them...

Well the libs might have the quantity, but Conservatives provide the quality. Numbers speak for themselves lil ol' FoxNews beats MSNBC CNN,CBS NBC PBS combined in the ratings . Yes libs have more outlets of media to spew their garbage but their viewers a diminishing by the day.........check it

Quality has little to do with it. It is personality and charisma.

It has not been demonstrated that liberal hosts are any more wrong than are conservative hosts. Though it may be more difficult to find, liberal talk radio is out there. Those who are interested can look it up for themselves.

Some prominent examples of liberal talk radio shows currently in national syndication include: The Ed Schultz Show, Alan Colmes, Lionel, Thom Hartmann, Bill Press, and Stephanie Miller. In some markets, local liberal hosts have existed for years, such as Bernie Ward in San Francisco, Jack Ellery in New Jersey and Tampa, Dave Ross in Seattle, and Marc Germain in Los Angeles. A few earlier syndicated programs were hosted by prominent Democrats who were not experienced broadcasters, such as Jim Hightower, Jerry Brown, Mario Cuomo and Alan Dershowitz; these met with limited success, and Air America has been faced with various legal and financial problems.
