Why do democrats hate nuclear power again?

Democrats don't hate nuclear power, uneducated people do.

They just don't know what benefit nuclear power does (baseload capacity, virtually no CO2 emissions, less radiation emmited (vs coal), respectable costs, ...)

In order to pass thoses laws, ours representatives have to imaginate things that would look cool in order to get support : nuclear help to reduce oil dependency. It does look cool but oil produce only 3% of electricity, so energy policy dosent help shit with oil.

Great comments by all those ridiculing the now generational liberal attack against clean-burning nuclear energy.

The fact that nuclear energy is not seen as a completely viable option by so many on the left who also profess a deep appreciation for the environment, clearly displays the absolute hypocrisy and stupidity of their position on this issue.

If this country doubled its nuclear capacity within five years - which it could do, our depenence upon foreign oil would greatly decline, dirty coal plants could be updated to more clean burning technology, high paying jobs would be created - and on and on.

And yet, we have members of our government intent upon a cap n trade tax scam that will produce billions in new tax revenues but do little to actually improve the environment because both China and India are full steam ahead on their respective industrial/economic revolutions with populations many times over the U.S. population.

Before so many worry about saving the planet - I strongly suggest they first worry over saving the United States...
