Why did Kamala lose?

I wouldn't put it as, She lost because..." but it seems clear to me that if she had named Josh Shapiro as her running mate, she would have won - probably in a landslide.

But speaking of VP's, the advent of J.D. Vance to the national stage is a game changer. For the past four years, most Americans were quite adamant that they didn't want Biden assassinated or tossed by the 26th Amendment because Plan B was so awful. Now, nobody will have nightmares about a Trump assassination (always a possibility with any President) because Plan B would probably be better.

And we Republicans have teed up a great nominee for 2028, eh?
DeSantis is also a possibility for 2028. I also like Vivek Remaswamy.

Here’s the thing, Democrats:

Probably 35% of R voters voted for Trump because they love him.

The rest voted for Trump because they hate you.

Why did Kamala lose?
  • She was soundly rejected by her own party in 2019 during the primaries. Her own party didn't like her.
  • Kamala truly was a DEI hire. Joe hired based on gender and skin color, not the most qualified.
  • Democrats including Kamala hid Joe's cognitive decline. Don't underestimate this as a very serious issue. WHO IS RUNNING THE COUNTRY RIGHT NOW???
  • Kamala was installed, not voted in as the candidate. She bypassed the primary process which is critical for candidates to formulate their message and debate.
  • When Kamala was installed as the candidate she had 3 months to left until the election.
  • Kamala was just to extreme. Trump only needed to play videos of Kamala in her own words to prove she was to far left. She's on video saying the following:
    • She will ban fracking. (bye bye PA)
    • She said we need to be MORE woke.
    • She wanted to pay for sex changes for inmates.
    • She wanted to pay for illegals.
  • Kamala was in fact in charge of border security (per Joe Biden) and she ignored the issue and made it worse. This may have been the #1 issue.
  • Inflation hit record numbers during the Biden/Kamala term.
  • Gas never fell below $3 under Biden/Kamala.
  • NO WAR under Trump. Israel and Ukraine attacked under Biden/Kamala.
  • With the exception of Brett Baier, Kamala did not do real interviews. She only spoke with "friendly" left leaning media and even then she gave bad answers. Even the friendliest of friendly interviews like Oprah and The View couldn't help her.
  • She is just a horrible speaker. Her "Ambitions, aspirations and dreams" line was becoming a national punchline as was "unburdened by what has been".
  • At the end of the day make no mistake, this is a WIN FOR TRUMP and not a rejection of Kamala. Trump's question of were you better off under Biden/Kamala or him hit home with voters.

Meanwhile, instead of whiny Trump cult propaganda, I'll speak to reality.

Why did Harris lose? Let's talk factors under her control. What could she have done better?

1. The economy. She should have been hammering on how inflation and high gas prices were Trump's fault. She let the lies pass unchallenged.

2. Immigration. Same thing. She let the lies pass unchallenged.

3. Trans stuff. Letting transgirls play on girls teams and use girls' bathrooms is a stupid fringe issue, something not important, and making a stand on that stupid hill gave Republicans a devastating weapon.

What do Democrats need to do?

1. Go full populist. Real populist, not phony "To solve our problems, we need to kiss up to billionaires and hate brown people more!" Trump-style populism. Hammer on how monopolies and a rigged system are why Joe Sixpack's money all goes to rich people.

2. For glub's sake, stop backing transgirls in girls' sports and girls' bathrooms.

3. Federal cannabis legalization is a low-hanging fruit, and it's maddening that Democrats refuse to pluck it.

4. Oh, screw the Palestinians. The Arabs and Tankies (see: georgephillip) will always stab you in the back no matter what you do, so fuck 'em.

Your candidate has to be a real idiot to lose to a twice impeached lying felon rapist fascist.
Yeah? Well you are the borg that dutifully accepted the Biden/Harris hat trick.
The elites in your party TOLD YOU who to support - and you all wanted to pretend she was superwoman.

No, you're not even remotely close to why she lost. She lost because of inflation, the economy, and 10-20 million illegals that rolled in.

Democrats = peace and helping out working folk

If we stick to this formula we can be a great party again.

I'd like to see the numbers comparing them in specific districts in specific swing states, to see exactly where those differences came from. Were they all from a few small areas, or was it the same percentage higher across the board? That would tell the true story.

Kamala underperformed Biden by a large margin.
Everywhere.

By sitting in his figurative basement for the entire 2020 campaign season? I'd rather see those 2020 80 million votes compared, district by district, to the 2016 and 2024 numbers.

Dems are apparently misogynists, they don't turn out for female candidates. :dunno:

That ship sailed decades ago. The Party of extreme leftists is not the party of the Kennedy family.

Far be it from me to shatter your Dem / Socialist religious fundamentalism but the whiny grievances of a retrograde leftist hardly does justice to a remarkable decade in time of this nation, the 1960’s. While I didn’t live it, the '60's represented a decade of enormous social change and the widest possible expression of music, the arts snd public involvement in politics by young people. During the awakening social conciseness of U.S. in the 1960’s, young people in huge numbers joined the Peace Corps and went overseas to assist in under-developed nations. The Peace Corps had a draw and it appealed to that 60’s era, post John F. Kennedy’s theme of unselfish, altruistic behavior.

Thanks to this big defeat, I think reform is possible.

Trump’s success with black voters:

Not likely, in my opinion. The party is still infested with de-facto "influencers" such as AOC, Omar, Tlaib, Raskin and the "squids". These are far left loons who drag the party to the far left.

I blame the corrupt billionaires as well.
