Why couldn't Nixon get rid of communist agents?

Nixon did not like the Communists and their left-wing agents, but he did not manage to carry out such a brilliant campaign as McCarthy. What did he lack? Rigidity and determination?

The McCarthy era is a stain on US history. Nixon, for all his faults did not try to blackball or arrest free citizens who had differing views.

After McCarthy there was an economic boom in the USA (Eisenhower's time). The communist left agents are the enemies of the US there is nothing to be ashamed of. There is no "stain", only honor and glory.

Honor and glory? People lost their livelihoods over something that is not illegal. They were tried without the benefit of the usual constitutionally mandates safeguards.

Let me repeat, it is not illegal to be a communist in the US.

We're not like your crappy country that demands to be ruled with an iron fist.
Really? Who voted for Roosevelt? Who is turning their asses for Biden's totalitarian inoculations?

Yes it is.
Communism, by very definition, is sedition.
It is directly opposed to the constitution we currently live under and violates the oath of office of every elected official.

A communist can find themselves in Gitmo legally. Most of the time they don't bother with those who don't matter and who crazily claim to be communist. Just because they haven't arrested you doesn't mean that you are not guilty of sedition.

LOL!

No. Citizens are not excluded from the US Constitution because of any political views.
Expelled for wrecking and justifying communist crimes.

By the way, Marxism is extremism. Is extremism legal in the US?

There is a US Communist party in the US right now. They have had recognized candidates for president in 12 elections from 1924 to 1984.

Unless you commit a crime or plan to overthrow the US gov't, there is nothing illegal about being a communist.

Holding extremist views is not illegal in the US. Neither is simply being a communist or believing in Marxism.

They always plan crimes because their base literature is direct calls for extremism, terror and coup d'état.
