I’ve never heard a GOP politician support any if the actual violence that occurredSo I guess we can agree that a minority of the GOP oppose the political violence of Jan 6.
When a car kills someone it is an “accident”Cars kill about just as much.
.When a car kills someone it is an “accident”
When a gun kills someone it is “on purpose”
The people are still dead. That’s your entire supposed reason right? When a car kills someone it is an “accident”
When a gun kills someone it is “on purpose”
Very good point.
Neither cars nor guns kill people.
.
The people are still dead. That’s your entire supposed reason right?
.We have passed many laws to make driving safer.
Safer cars, safer roads, tough drunk driving laws. Drivers must be trained, licensed and insured.
Traffic fatalities are way down.
Why don’t we do the same thing with guns?
Take you head out of the sand.I’ve never heard a GOP politician support any if the actual violence that occurred
Shoot first, ask questions later.
Depends on where you live.
Thanks God for allowing me to live in a state where I don't need a permit to carry a tool.

We’ve already put restrictions on guns.We have passed many laws to make driving safer.

Trump didn’t attempt to overturn the election. He spoke out, but he had no connection to the mild violence at the Capitol. And the only “deadly” part was one of the rioters getting shot. You’re really lying here with you statement
I see you move those goalposts when challenged. We’ve already put restrictions on guns.
And point to the constitutional amendment in the untouchable Bill of Rights that says you have the right to own a car that shall not be infringed. That completely busts your attempt
I’ll wait
You mean a Chrustian born a Jew, converted to christianity,Dagoth-Ur said:That doesn’t change the fact he was a Jew.
Chronic delusions?Trump didn’t attempt to overturn the election. He spoke out, but he had no connection to the mild violence at the Capitol. And the only “deadly” part was one of the rioters getting shot. You’re really lying here with you statement
Embellishment or conspiracy?Chronic delusions?
How did Trump attempt to overturn the 2020election:
After the 2020 presidential election, Donald Trump and his allies engaged in a multifaceted campaign to reverse the results of the election won by Joe Biden. These efforts spanned legal challenges, political pressure on government officials, and a plan to use the certification process on January 6, 2021, to remain in power.
The House Select Committee on the January 6 Attack described these combined efforts as a "multi-part conspiracy" to subvert the democratic process.
1. Legal Challenges and the "Big Lie"
Immediately after the election, the Trump campaign and its proxies filed over 60 lawsuits in state and federal courts, including the Supreme Court.
- The Goal: To disqualify large numbers of ballots (particularly mail-in votes) or to stop the certification of results in swing states like Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
- The Outcome: Nearly all of these cases were dismissed by judges—including many appointed by Trump—due to a lack of evidence of widespread fraud. Federal and state election officials, along with the Department of Justice, confirmed there was no fraud sufficient to change the outcome.
2. Pressuring State and Local Officials
Trump and his team contacted election officials and legislators in key states to encourage them to "recalculate" results or refuse to certify the vote.
- The Georgia Call: In a recorded January 2021 phone call, Trump pressured Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to "find 11,780 votes," the exact number needed to overcome Biden's lead in the state.
- State Legislatures: Efforts were made to convince Republican-led legislatures in states Biden won to ignore the popular vote and instead appoint their own slates of Trump electors.
3. The "Fake Electors" Scheme
The Trump campaign organized groups of "fake electors" in seven swing states (Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin).
- The Plan: These individuals signed fraudulent certificates claiming Trump had won their states. These documents were sent to the National Archives and Congress with the intent of creating a legal pretext for Vice President Mike Pence to swap the legitimate Biden electors for the Trump ones during the January 6 certification.
4. Pressuring the Department of Justice (DOJ)
Trump attempted to use the DOJ to lend credibility to his claims of fraud.
- The Strategy: He pressured top DOJ officials to declare the election "corrupt" so he and Republican lawmakers could use that declaration to challenge the results.
- The Threat: Trump nearly replaced the Acting Attorney General with Jeffrey Clark, a lower-level official who was willing to send letters to state officials falsely claiming the DOJ had found significant election concerns. This was only thwarted when top DOJ leadership threatened a mass resignation.
5. Pressure on Vice President Mike Pence
As January 6 approached, Trump and his legal advisors (notably John Eastman) focused on the theory that the Vice President had the unilateral authority to reject or delay the counting of electoral votes.
The Request: Trump publicly and privately demanded that Pence use his ceremonial role during the Joint Session of Congress to block the certification of Biden’s victory.
- Pence's Refusal: Pence ultimately concluded that he did not have the constitutional authority to change the results, a decision he announced shortly before the session began.
6. The January 6 Capitol Attack
Trump summoned his supporters to Washington D.C. for a "Stop the Steal" rally on the day of certification.
- The Incitement: During his speech, he told the crowd to "fight like hell" and urged them to march to the Capitol.
- The Riot: A mob of his supporters subsequently breached the U.S. Capitol, causing a delay in the certification process and forcing lawmakers to flee. Despite the violence, the certification was completed late that night after the building was cleared.
Both.Embellishment or conspiracy?
Wait a minute. Let me put on my AlanG thinking cap. Did all news agencies report the same thing? Because unless they all did, then it couldn't have been true. The accusations against him had to be embellished.Both.
Trump embellished the questions about the election integrity. He and others conspired to overturn the election.
We have video of Trump speaking, something we don't have for Jesus. So no.Wait a minute. Let me put on my AlanG thinking cap. Did all news agencies report the same thing? Because unless they all did, then it couldn't have been true. The accusations against him had to be embellished.
Better yet, Trump was never convicted of wrong doing so I'm thinking the accusations against him must have been the conspiracy.
Think of how all those pagans felt after being secretly lied to with 40 made up miracles. Now that's a conspiracy.
