Who's Afraid of Socialism?

Please, that is the statement of someone who does not know their history. Read your history; Standard Oil, JP Morgan banking, Carnegie Steel.

Pure Marxism is bad, pure capitalism is bad. They are both theories that do not work in the real world.
You hate Marx. You are the equivalent of Marx but on the opposite side. You are what you hate.
The Robber Barons relied upon things like exclusive rights-of-way and mineral rights granted to them by.....big socialistic gubmint!

Reducto-ad-Robber Barron FAIL!...How 'bout you bone up on your history, tovarich?

"Capitalism’s incompatibility with majority interests has been reaffirmed by the current economic crisis.

"Earlier, the most severe effects of capitalism had been offset, within the US, by the progressive reforms of the 1930s.

"But capital’s political power was less restrained in this country than it was in the other rich countries.

"Flush with military might and bolstered by a mass right-wing culture of arrogant self-righteousness, US capital launched a withering counterattack against the New Deal legacy, culminating in an almost three-decade orgy of anti-welfare legislation, imperialist aggression, privatization, and deregulation."

Unrestrained profit maximization results in concentrating an enormous amount of surplus capital which can find few safe investments.

"Free market" capitalists turn to highly speculative scams which generate financial bubbles as the real economy continues to be hollowed out and the working class is driven deeper into debt.

Socialism would turn to government for an alternative, but US government is Goldman Sachs regardless of which major party is in control.
Doctors in Venezuela selling their bodies lol

There is not a socialistic policy in america. Socialism will never take hold here. It has no support other than a few fringes kooks who are way out there.
What is social security? What is legal unionism? What is a public school system. What is the basis of our taxes?
Do you have a high school degree?
What are any of those things worth in the real world?

You really such a dunce that you want to go with those examples of socialistic "success"?!? :auiqs.jpg:

Monopolies become robber barrons.
You do not appear to have the ability of critical thinking. You do not know what you do not know. Even worse you deny that you do not know everything. The characteristic of a stupid person.

We do have crony capitalism, and Obama was a master at it, while preaching "You didn't build that", passing Obamacare (socialist), and funding green companies with taxpayer money, like Solyndra that went bankrupt.

However, I will take our somewhat market based economy which is highly regulated, but does at least offer some competition over socialism any day.

Obamacare was a corporate health care plan born in a right wing think tank, which is why Obama accepted it since he was basically a corporate democrat. He's getting his reward now giving speeches to wall street for thousands of dollars a minute. No, Obamie was no commie.

Who’s afraid of socialism? Everyone that lived in a socialist country. Except the leaders that seem to live a life of luxury while everyone else starves.

That explains the relentless influx of immigrants from Denmark.

From your comrades at HuffingPaintPo....

Denmark: Not As Socialist (Nor As Successful) As You Think

I just knew some wag would bring in a No True Scotsman fallacy. It was just a matter of time, and not that much of it.
I guess the freaking Prime Minister of Denmark has a wee bit of Scot in him too, huh?

Denmark's prime minister says Bernie Sanders is wrong to call his country socialist

BWAAAAHAHAHA!...Who granted the Robber Barons their exclusive mineral rights and rights-of-way?....You think they just got them out of thin air?!?

What are they "worth" huh? You want, what, dollar values, Ferengi?

What's the fact that we had no Thalidomide babies in the US because the socialistic FDA kept it out "worth"? How many "dollars"?

What's it "worth" to be able to take a plane trip without crashing into another plane because the socialistic FAA coordinates all of those flights? Or to be able to drive from point A to point B three thousand miles away on the socialistic public roads? I dunno, you'd have to compare the cost to walking through the wilderness for that distance, wouldn't you. And you'll have to do so without those damned socialistic bridges and tunnels because without socialism they aren't there.

What's it "worth" to your house if it catches fire, that the socialistic fire department is there to put it out and the socialistic police force is there to protect it? What's it "worth" to know you can pull a glass of water out of your tap and you're not going to get dysentery because the socialistic water works doesn't allow it to happen? Hm?

For that matter where the fuck do you think this internet came from? And the electricity grid to use it? Perhaps it's the work of fairies. Yeah that's the ticket.

You mean this, Romenycare? Romney is no true Republican, and Jonathan Gruber is FAR from a Republican.

From 2003-06 he was one of the architects of Massachusetts health care reform, also known as "Romneycare".[9] In 2006 he became an inaugural member of the Health Connector Board, the main implementing body for that effort.

I agree that Obama had both elements of CRONY, payback capitalism in his actions, and Communism in his rhetoric, like Fundamental Transformation, and you didn't build that.

Pure socialism or pure capitalism does not work. Show me an example of either that works in the real world.
Our government is a blend of both capitalism and socialism, heavier on capitalism.
The key is took get the balance right.
Pure capitalism does work, but there are numerous people who do everything in their power to destroy it.
Show me a pure capitalist government that has worked in a real world. In a pure capitalist government those who cheat and have no morals more often win. Capitalism with all participants having a moral compass may work, but human being do not all have moral compasses.
The US economy was predominantly capitalist in the late 1800's. The result was the creation of monopolies so companies could not compete and taking advantage of workers.
One of the first to instill capitalist regulations was Teddy roosevelt a Republican
The US was extremely close to pure capitalism until 1914 when the government created the Federal Reserve. During that time it became the biggest and richest economy on planet Earth.

There were no monopolies in the country aside from the ones the government created. You've been brainwashed with Marxist propaganda.

In theory (on paper) pure capitalism, marxism, socialism, etc is designed to uplift all. Now add the real world that contains myriads of motivational factors, personalities, fixations, etc and every system ultimately becomes corrupted, pure or otherwise.

I am pretty sure this is why we have pirates.

The FDA approved Fen-Phen, Viox, and a lot of other drugs which killed and maimed people....When have they ever been held to account for that?

How many totally safe and effective medications and devices have been kept off the market, because of the horribly expensive ($500,000,00+) and onerously long (a decade or more) process to get them approved?...Do you have any idea whom that empowers and whom that weakens?...Do you even know what "orphan drugs" are?

Hilarious that you'd try to invoke the biggest protection racket for BigPharm ever created, as a supposed "success" of socialism!:lmao:

So you actually try to make a point about FDA screening failures ---- and then immediately shoot that point in the foot with whining about why it works. Sailing completely over your head is the fact that without some FDA *ALL* of that shit, and way more, kills people. Matter of fact you just made the same whiny argument Big Pharma made when FDA put up a stop sign to Thalidomide. Guess who was right.

I think you don't quite get the idea of how argument is made. Perhaps you should spend time at the socialist public library. Or look it up on the socialist internet.

Is it.
Tell the class, Noodles --- how many Thalidomide babies did the US have?

Now how many did Britain have? Or Canada? Australia?

What's the difference? How come we got zero and they got tens of thousands?

Oh wait, I know. It's the fairies again. Because government always bad.
