We lost---we're still saddled with the same incompetent, partisan congress that is incapable of working together for the betterment of the country.Time to vote. Let's see what everyone thinks. Maybe everyone will be in agreement.
I'll remember--but your point is not lost--the collective electorate in the US has a memory about as long as my---------nose.No one won or lost very much. A week from now, no one will even remember this.
I disagree. I think that used to be the play, but America has changed a lot over the past four yearsNo one won or lost very much. A week from now, no one will even remember this.
A week. Two, tops. By the midterms 12 months from now, people will say, "Shutdown? Wasn't that like 5 years ago?"I disagree. I think that used to be the play, but America has changed a lot over the past four years
I don’t think Americans will forget what the Dems attempted here
Well that’s even more proof the Dems failed but I certainly hope that America is reminded of what they didA week. Two, tops. By the midterms 12 months from now, people will say, "Shutdown? Wasn't that like 5 years ago?"
That's if they think of it at all which they won't.
I agree. The losers, of course, are the American people.
I don't think I or more importantly, elected republicans, will ever let the anti American democrats EVER forget what they've done. What did the Japanese say after Pearl Harbor? We have awakened a sleeping giant.Well that’s even more proof the Dems failed but I certainly hope that America is reminded of what they did
Is it too early to tell?Time to vote. Let's see what everyone thinks. Maybe everyone will be in agreement.
Considering the republicans voted to pass it nearly unanimously FOURTEEN times, it is pretty clear they didn't want the gov't closed. SHUMER'S SHUTDOWN FOLLY.Is it too early to tell?
"What exactly did the Senate vote on?
"The Senate passed a procedural vote on Sunday, which means the vote was not over the bill, but it will allow the bill to move forward so senators can debate and eventually vote on it. This 60-40 test vote marks the first step in a series of procedural manoeuvres."
This shutdown has sidelined about 750,000 federal employees according to the CBO, and I can't help wondering if either party wanted the stoppage to continue during the upcoming Thanksgiving travel season?
US Senate shutdown vote: What happened, who voted to end it, what’s next?

Republicans also controlled all three branches of the federal government along with SCOTUS, so it's hard to see how a shutdown materialized without their support (or indifference):Considering the republicans voted to pass it nearly unanimously FOURTEEN times, it is pretty clear they didn't want the gov't closed. SHUMER'S SHUTDOWN FOLLY.
