Who will lose out when ACA health insurance subsidies expire?

I give you Kaiser and you give me what?

Some AI shit that says premiums “may also rise”?
Kaiser correctly talked about increases in "out of pocket premium costs" not increases in the premiums.

Just pay your own damn bill, or at least the paltry amount of extra you'll have to pay because Dems set the COVID ACA subsidies to expire.

Are we still in the COVID crises?

Hey dipshit, have you ever heard of EMPLOYER SPONSORED HEALTH PLANS?? They are WAY BETTER than ObominationCare Exchange plans. You should read up on them.
People like Lesh would have to get jobs in order to benefit from them, and that ain't happening in this lifetime.

"Some 22 million Americans are set to lose health insurance subsidies by the end of the year. Who are they, and what will happen if the subsidies are allowed to expire?

These subsidies, known as enhanced premium tax credits, lower costs for people who buy their health insurance through Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplaces (sometimes called Obamacare). They are at the heart of a weeks-long standoff that has shuttered the federal government since Oct. 1. About 80 percent of the people who benefit from them live in states that Donald Trump won in the 2024 presidential election. Many have no idea that their health insurance costs are on track to go up.

Who benefits from the tax credit?

Almost everyone who got their health insurance through an ACA marketplace in 2025 received the enhanced premium tax credit, so describing the people who have ACA plans is a good way to get a sense of the people who get the credit."

Trump/Republican voters lose, as usual.

The stupidity of voting for Trump and Republicans.

The stupidity of voting against one’s own interests.
#FAFO

Hope Shitler! tells them to get a job.

It will double premiums

Fact

Do you think people on ACA wouldn’t prefer that?

Stupid *****
Not if they are on ACA because they are "entrepreneurs," artists, video game beta testers doing piecework, or people living off of mom and dad after age 26.

You don't think there is a boatload of people who will happily avoid work as long as those who are working are dumb enough to support them?

It will double premiums

Fact
It will raise many people's out of pocket premium costs, but they still will not be paying most of the premium. Taxpayers will. If premiums rise, it will be due to inflation or just plain greed, not because of losing the temporary COVID ACA Supplement.

Some people are currently paying zero for premiums and many of those do not know they are even enrolled, so they never make claims. I suppose if they have to pay ten bucks, their premiums will have gone up by infinite percent.

I suppose a person only paying $11 dollars who will have to pay $22 will cry "my premiums doubled!" That's the kind of math that keeps them from succeeding in the job market.

Dude, if you drop your coverage because of that, good riddance to one more drain on healthcare.

Whether they are paying “most of the premiums “ or not…what they are paying will DOUBLE

Stop being dishonest

And premiums that are $800 will go to over $1600

Right, that is factual.

But the premiums are much higher than the out of pocket amount they pay and the taxpayer picks up the rest. With or without the additional COVID Supplement.

All to pay for an insurance plan that was supposed to SAVE us $2500 dollars - was it each or per family, do you remember?

Anyway, I would think you are more concerned about SNAP running out. That is literally next month.

Do you have a plan? Is there a church nearby that will be feeding those who had the rug pulled out from under them by Schumer et al?

Do NOT let your pride stop you, Lesh, please! You can still ridicule them. Hell, you can even clown on them about the Flying Spaghetti Monster while actually eating the spaghetti they give you! That is the kind of "delicious" irony that liberals love, right?

Removing the Covid extensions will cause premiums paid by people with ACA to DOUBLE

End of story

It’s not all the subsidies (glad you morons finally understand that) but the net result will be a doubling of premiums
Maybe xiden and the dems shouldn’t just extended the subs to big insurance and instead did something about inflation in their inflation reduction act instead of just covering it up with tax dollars

This is the net result of voting for them

Either way nothing can be addressed until they allow the gov to open

Aside from your rhetorics, which i'm about to ignore, you also display significant stupidity of your own, dear Democrat.

We are in Cold War 2, on the brink of a conventional world war 3 (with Taiwan looming).
That requires much money is sent into the defense industries of NATO (and my EU).

And what I also don't like (at all!) is the dems "spreading democracies" by those dozens or even hundreds of "small" donations(!) to countries around the world to foster western type thinkers & activists.
THAT GOT US INTO THE WARS OF FAR EASTERN EUROPE ALREADY, and it must stop!

So lick your wounds, but prepare to be marginalized in 2026 and 2028, if you keep this nonsense up, Schumer & co.

And it also led to the spread of the gay-pride VIRUSSES, that now do seem to include indoctrination of the youngest.
But I got that nearly tucked away again; I'm negotiating with LGBTQI+ activists about it, and we have a concensus that such library materials should not get spread to under 14 years of age in any library anywhere, and that parents should be kept "in the loop".
Their brains are still in development, and the last thing we need is more sexually confused young people.

Which will be no tragedy for them.

You can pay it, Lesh. Stop expecting life to be free because you choose not to get off your ass.

One of my brothers is self employed and uses the ACA marketplace for his family. He is currently paying about $23K a year for family insurance. He is really looking forward to it going up.

Your title is a LIE. Health insurance subsidies are NOT expiring. They are reverting back to what Obama said was a wonderful plan that would make health care affordable for everyone.

The 2017-2018 Republican congress gutted the program making it much more expensive by destabilized the individual market. Congress eliminated the individual mandate penalty and the Trump administration cut off federal “cost-sharing reduction” payments that helped insurers lower out-of-pocket costs for lower-income enrollees. To cover those lost subsidies, insurers raised benchmark premiums dramatically in 2018, creating a big step-up.

Biden offset that with the funding that is expiring.

Your claim is bunk. Its not the same program Obama passed unless the funding is in place. You should read up before you weigh in would be my advice.
