Never been a fan of the modern and/or abstract artists.
My preference has always been the classical artists. Clearly better talent.

For example , Picasso was trained " classically " yet chose to then widen conceptual boundaries and moved away from the limitations of just painting representationally and acting like a camera .

They will prefer Bollocks Jackson or Rot Lithuania who were rubbish . Roy Lichtenstein to the peasants .

Although born in Mscow The Kad spent much of his life in one of my favourite cities -- Odessa .

IMO, Marc Chagall. He blended symbolism, abstract and surrealism touches within numerous pieces of his work. I started collecting his lithographs back in the 70's
