Who voted for this?

Did you vote for Trump because you wanted broad tariffs which cause inflation?

How do you imagine stores could afford to not raise prices if the product costs them twice as much?

Do you understand what you are saying?

Stores which import from Canada and Mexico would definitely raise prices
if the tariffs increased their costs. No question.

So why were goods in your example suddenly 100% more expensive to produce?
Do you understand the point you're trying to make?

I'm still waiting for you to explain what Canada gave Trump except a big fat fuck-you.

Trump claimed it was a 1.3 billion border deal, but that deal was from December. So what is our gain for Trump pissing off Canadians?

They made that deal after Trump was elected? Why would they do that? DURR

You are a profoundly ignorant democrat. I gave you the information but, being a democrat you ignore it. So, go on being a democrat.

Meanwhile, Trump WINS yet again.

If only you'd actually do that and just ignore instead of wasting people's time with your useless, unconstructive troll posts.
🥱

As are many of your shitlib trolls, you’re confused even about the meaning of the term “troll.”

Anyway, cry your widdle eyes out. I wouldn’t dignify one of your idiotic “pulls” by replying to it via a “vote.”

M answer to your ignorant and befuddled thread headline remains unchanged.

The voters who chose Trump voted for this.

Now take you stupid mindless troll question and stuff it.

Lets take tomatoes:

We get most of them from Canada and Mexico - are you seriously going to tell me there will not be an increase to the consumer goods basket if suddenly these tomatoes are 25% more expensive? Certainly in short term prices are going up, inflation going up and domestic production of tomatoes will probably become more lucrative increasing labor demand state-side in the mid-long term.

You gave me a link to New York Times article you didn't seem to read, because it told you the same thing I did.

P.S. it's Democrat to you.

A good deal is not a good deal if Trump was not involved? Thats some cult shit.

Yes, if tomatoes get more expensive because of tariffs, we'll pay more for tomatoes.
That's not inflation.

the definition of inflation is literally "An increase in the general level of prices or in the cost of living."

Are you even hearing yourself?

Imagine Biden coming out and saying "I know things like tomatoes cost you more, but don't you worry Americans, there is no inflation". Your left eye would violently twitch in protest.

What you saying defies plain common sense and even the very guy who you cited for believing it - Milton Friedman. You've lost interest in listening to him, but bizzarely you still insist on believing in your false understanding of his position on inflationary effects.

Blah, blah, blah.

Unless the money supply is increasing such that all prices can increase, it's not inflation.
One thing gets more expensive, other things get less expensive to compensate.

Sorry, not inflation.

What did I say that defies Milton Friedman?

Your theory is plainly wrong.

What you are missing is that standard inflation measure is only about day-to-day consumer spending and when nescessities (like tomatoes) get more expensive people start to spend more on that and less on things like real estate, retirement and other investments which are excluded from CPI.

We imported $412 billion from Canada last year and $505 billion from Mexico.
25% of $917 billion is about $229 billion. In a $29 trillion economy.
Less than 0.8%.

Somehow, I think we'll survive.

You are not posting like someone who understood what you've read.

People spending less on investments, savings and real estate because tomatoes and other nescesseties get more expensive IN FACT increases inflation because it's standard measure includes only day-to-day spending.

It's not complicated, so you are either plaing stupid because you don't want to admit it or you ARE stupid.

Which one is it?

So your support standard for Trump's economic policy is....we'll survive it somehow. :slap:

I'm not going to reduce the 15% going into my 401K because Mexican tomatoes
are 25% more expensive.

How much is rent and OER going to decline with all the deportations?
That should be a decent drop in CPI, eh?
