Yes - you are absolutely correct. I have been there more then a dozen times, last being in 2022 and there is indeed a vast difference in mentality and character of Israelis being 50+, 60+ and those being younger.
I believe it's simply due to the fact, that those being 50+ are very aware about how Israel came into being- about previous peace processes and what was done and is being done to Palestinians and Israels neighbors since latest 1980.

The younger ones (35-) embrace the more hard-line, religious-nationalist ideologies than their parents or grandparents, who weren't into religious-nationalist ideologies. Therefore they favor the Bibi government to "end" the issue with the Palestinians - no matter how.

And on the Arab and Palestinian side - you can observe the exact same issues. Whilst elder Palestinians are well educated and far less religious but moderate folks - the younger once are just as fanatical (and mostly jobless) - like their Semitic brethren in Israel.
