Who is not a citizen of the US in this forum?

I'm planning on Edinburgh and then north, any good advice for a tourist?
Edinburgh is good for history, not much in the way of shopping. I've hardly been much further North of Edinburgh and Glasgow. So you will find out more than I know about Scotland, lol. My dad's side of the family is Galashiels/Selkirk area, so we were dragged there as kids. We used to camp over at Glentrool, you need repellent and smoke candles because of the midges.

My eldest son is currently doing the Munroes, whether you would be interested in hiking up one. There's 282 to choose from, they're just hills above 3,000 ft.
