First off, I'm not opposed to several things Trump says he's wanting to do. DOGE has some very good points. And they seem to be finding a lot of wasteful spending that needs to be cut. I 100% support that. And getting rid of DEI in our government.

But all this talk about taking over countries and the Panama Canal....... 3 countries in less than a month taking office, that sounds like something that German guy did that started WW2.

His supporters say it's all just a ploy. Some genius plot that he's using to negotiate with. I hope they're right. I would welcome Canada, Mexico and Greenland being part of the USA, if THEY chose to do so. But ONLY if they chose to. Not because we forced them to.

He is perfectly well allowed to raise the issues of considering taking Canada into our national fold, buying Greenland and reclaiming the canal our nation built in Panama.

I agree that he can’t force anyone to accept any or all of those hypotheticals.

But it’s perfectly ok to put them on the table for consideration.

Greenland isn’t getting invaded. Neither is Canada. And even Panama has a right to oppose relinquishing the canal America built.

We built the Panama Canal. That idiot Jimmy Carter gave it away. We are taking it back.

Greenland wants to be free of Denmark and is strategically important for the US to get as opposed to allowed the Russians or Chinese get it at some point in the future.

Trump has no intention of forcibly taking over Greenland. It's the old "say something outrageous to gain attention, then discuss possible solutions to a problem," in this case a larger national security net against adversaries (China and Russia). He will no doubt propose a larger military presence than we currently have.
When it comes to the Panama Canal, we needed to create a quicker method of getting transport ships to the Pacific Ocean than traversing south of Argentina, so our government fomented a revolution in what was Columbia, to get control of the area in Central America that we needed to create the canal. We built it with our blood, sweat, tears, malaria, and equipment to build it. We created what became as the internationally recognized nation of Panama. Should China get control of the canal, that would threaten our shipping and thus we should and have just made a deal to get China out of their "Belt and Road" plans there. So, by claiming that he would forcibly take the canal back, he pressured the Panamanian government to acquiesce to American needs.
As for GAZA, again, an outrageous claim to gain attention and force groups to consider alternatives for solutions. The downside on this one is that HAMAS is an Islamic fundamentalist group that simply hates all non-Muslims, especially the Israelis, since the Israelis got some of their ancestral homeland back. Any agreements they make are always going to secretly involve HAMAS trying to bring in more weapons, rockets/missiles, dig tunnels and still try to destroy the Israeli homeland. They teach their children from infancy onward to hate the Jews and non-believers.
The world would be a far safer planet if Islam ceased to exist.
