She had two small brats in the truck to watch over.

Apparently she was with her brother at a bar and on their way home after closing time she got out of the vehicle and started walking. He wouldn't say why she got out. Perhaps 1 or both of them were drunk. We can only speculate. She may have got out the car because he was driving recklessly. Or perhaps he kicked her out of the car and left her on the highway in the middle of nowhereville Montana, and that's why he won't say why she got out of the car.

Whatever the case, it's some very odd behavior that needs to be investigated. Perhaps he beat her up or killed her and left her on the road. Perhaps she was hitchhiking or trying to flag down vehicles for help when she was hit.
