I have been concurring with this statement for years. And I have been subjected to many of these intellectual wannabes while living and working in two blue states for years. Trying to get back to a RED one these days.

A better way of stating it is that white males are the most discriminated against as a result of Affirmative Action. In fact, nobody really benefits by it because positions are filled based on sex or skin color as opposed to talent and ability.

I want to do away with AA because the people who benefit from it don't appreciate it as much as they should.

I want companies to have AA programs but not forced on them. Because they know it's the right thing to do. Because they look around and see too many white males. So they tell their hiring managers to add a little color to the company. Start hiring diversity candidates because their bias might be overlooking Tyrone because let's face it. The most qualified aren't getting the jobs. The most white are. People hire people they can see themselves working with for the next 30 years. So naturally there's a good old white boys club.

I prefer the earlier times when people were hired by their qualifications. If I'm hiring, I'm going to hire the smartest, most experienced or trained person I can (regardless of race or sex). I'm not going to turn away a white guy with 5 years' worth of experience and hire a black street person. That's plain stupid.

And he likes his boss. If he didn't he could have walked with a year severance which would have been around $1 million dollars.
