Few of the poor farmers that were the bulk of the confederate army, were also slave owners. And for most of the war, the Confederacy was on the defense. And the invasion of the south was far more successful and brutal than the confederate's failed attempt at offense.
It is typical of leftards that you want to be able to discuss the motives of the confederate soldiers, but that you whine like a little girl, when your opponent addresses the same topic.
Nope. It's true, adn there is nothing "anti-American" about respecting the sacrifices of the fighting men of the confederacy. They were Americans fighting for what they thought at the time was a just cause, ie defending their homes. The people that they fought against, the Union vets understood and respected that, and had no problem with reconcilation.
