Has the presence of tens of millions of illegals been helpful for the middle-class? Have illegals helped drive up wages in blue collar trades? Have they brought down rents and home values? Have they helped improve public education for middle-classers? What’s your thoughts?

Democrats, hands down. It's not even close. And, it's not just middle class Joes and Janes. It's also small and medium sized companies. Democrats do everything they can to destroy small and medium size businesses so that only the huge conglomarates are left, and then they want to pass laws dictating to those only businesses left what they can do, and how they can do it. Much easier to deal with a handful of large compaines than thousands upon thousands of small and medium businesses. This is the socialist model.

Hard to say which one is worse. They both seem to hate the middle class' guts.
Immigration wise, reagan and bush created many incentives for them to come. But that would actually require you to think.

OMG are you still harping on illegals? First of all, Republicans were the ones who let them in on Bush's watch

"Between 1999 and 2003, work-site enforcement operations were scaled back 95 percent by the Immigration and Naturalization Service, which subsequently was merged into the Homeland Security Department. The number of employers prosecuted for unlawfully employing immigrants dropped from 182 in 1999 to four in 2003

And lots of illegals or undocumented workers work for Republican farms, restaurants and HOTELS.

2nd, Trump mishandled the Covid pandemic and look what happened. Inflation you blame on Joe Biden.

Trump 2.0 tariffs us all like a king and starts wars that he and his boys profit off of and you pay higher gas prices.

GAWD you're a stupid stupid man.

So, let me see if I understand this. This painter dude, he could "move up", run his own crews, then he could make more money. Or, he could hire a helper, someone to do all those little things this painter does himself. That could make him more efficient, he could make more money. But he does neither. Nope, he wants to continue to do what he has always done. He does not want to grow, does not want to teach, does not want to expand. Nope, he wants to continue to do his own thing all by himself.

And it is somehow the immigrant's fault this guy doesn't make more money?

The middle class gets screwed from both sides of the Deep State. The Dems hammer us with Socialist or Woke programs that drain us of our earnings. The Neocons create wars that lead to obscene amounts of spending. The current war is costing the middle class $Billions everyday.

Brokeloser and Republicans like him trashed American blue collar workers in the 2000's because Republicans told them to. You see, they made too much money. They were in unions. A lot of them worked for the Big 3 but lots more manufacturing jobs went overseas in the 2000's besides car manufacturing.

Republicans said they were stupid lazy overpaid pieces of shit.

But today Brokeloser and Republicans like him have found a winning issue with these same blue collar workers. Blame it on illegals! They are driving down their wages. While there is some truth to it, somehow I don't believe we will ever get rid of them. Not in any meaningful way where suddenly a waiter can raise a family on his income. That's a dream. In fact we've already lost so many workers, we now need more workers. And those companies aren't going to pay enough to attract MAGA blue collar workers. Or they won't pay enough that these MAGA blue collar workers will now suddenly be paid enough they can raise a family. It used to be that way before Republicans let illegals in and sent jobs overseas.

Manufacturing jobs are experiencing a complex, uneven resurgence in the US, driven by automation, policy incentives (CHIPS Act, Inflation Reduction Act), and efforts to reshore supply chains. While new factories are being built, the industry faces a massive labor shortage—hundreds of thousands of jobs go unfilled—due to a skills gap and an aging workforce.

    • In January 2026, there were 495,000 manufacturing job openings, highlighting high demand but difficulties in recruitment.
    • Challenges: High labor costs compared to other nations and a lack of skilled workers remain significant barriers to a full-scale comeback.

Yes, it is a scapegoat thing. Trump, and even Republicans before him, have consistently targeted "illegals". But they never really wanted to do anything about it. The reality is, illegals have helped to prop up the middle class against what is obviously the real problem, the system, political, social, and economic systems, are failing the middle class.

Exactly

Republicans have long wanted “the issue” of immigration for political purposes

They have never wanted to fix it

Trump is no different

They work in a complimentary fashion to destroy us. The right creates wars, the left then let's in all the refugees created by those wars.
