Most "billionaires" contribute to both major parties to have influence on who ever wins.
In theory "billionaires" do not have control on voting, ballots cast and/or ballots counted.

"Billionaires" become such largely through successful business dealings. Politics plays a minor role in affecting how to create wealth, but politics doesn't create wealth (it does redistribute wealth by taking from some and giving to others.)

To paraphrase the Bard's; "The fault dear Brutus lies not in our stars but in ourselves ..."

The fault lies not in the USA system, or that two parties have the majority of support, voters, and positions; but in the voters* who only think, vote, and act in a binary way politically.

*Barely half the citizens who can legally vote usually do so, which in effect means that barely more than a quarter of the citizens decide election outcomes.

At it's fundamental "Politics" is a system to control Economics, and one pole wants to increase liberty and free enterprise to create wealth; the other pole wants to control wealth, take such from creators and "redistribute" to non-creators; = "Equity" ~ opposite of Equality.

US has the system it has because it is adequate... They have sat around told everyone for centuries how they believe in democracy instead of making it any better...
European Countries have 8+ parties to choose from, US has 2... Yep the country that told the rest of the world they need competition, have 2...
Ireland has amended it Constitution 14 time since 2000, US last real amendment was in 1971... the laws are increasingly being made by Judges selected by those two parties...
But don't worry about the politicians, they are just employees for lobbyists.. A vast amount of that money comes directly or indirectly from Corporates... And the saying goes, those who pay the piper, calls the tune...

Meanwhile, US people are fighting among themselves while getting a daily news feed from their own faction.

About the same number in 1933 which is way a small, minority party gained the small majority needed to rule that nation, with a parliamentary system designed to encourage political chaos, and use it to start the Second World War, and connected Holocaust, among other travesties.
