Also, one might point out that the Nissan Sentra and the 240SX were two different cars.

Without putting too fine a point on it, I would suggest that some sports and sporty cars have designs that stand the test of time. The only thing that would have to change is the size of the wheels. 15" wheels looks ridiculous now.

I would suggest a few cars that could be sold today pretty much as they were sold back then:

Nissan 240SX hatchback

Nissan 300ZX

Dodge Stealth/Mitsu 3000GT

Toyota Supra

Mazda RX7

Mazda MX6GT or Ford Probe GT

Isuzu Impulse

Corvette

A 1987 Buick turbo Regal

A Volvo. Damned things haven't changed much in 25 years.

The only one that doesn't look tragically dated is the Sentra, which could pass for a late 1990s model.

The rest are as 1980s as day glow, acid washed jeans and man perms.
