It takes a while. There are several samples taken - venus blood, heart blood, bile, vitreous humor, hair, etc. Each sample requires a specific preparation for each analysis. For each sample, there are a at least two types of qualitative analysis for detection of different types of toxin. That's quite a lot of work right there. Then, if any analysis shows positive for a toxin, a t least one quantitative analysis is done, with a second analysis of different type done for confirmation. That is even more work.

It's been a bit over two weeks and he is not the only dead guy needing a post-mortem tox analysis.
