The anti-globalization premise is that I will be ok paying 10% (or whatever) for some good because a US worker will have more money to buy what I produce (or serve). Maybe that's sellable, maybe not. But Trump won the EV on it ... and Hillary's despicableness.
But the gop's tax munfifecence is aimed at the top 1% (and to the next 9% to lesser degrees depending on how close one is to the top). In short, Cohn and Munchkin (Wall St) won and the Alt R lost.
The history of the two party system is that any 3rd party or insurgent challenger is "assimilated." Some like the tea party/Perot just fade away. Others like the Dixie-crats find a home in one of the parties.
