Trump Tells Democrats 'You Voted for a Shutdown,

You'll Get a Shutdown'

19 Dec2024 ~~ By Joe Cunningham

President-elect Donald Trump blasted Democrats on Thursday night, accusing them of voting for a shutdown.
In a brief statement, Trump said "Nearly every single House Democrat just voted against government funding and to shut down the government."
"These 197 Democrats voted against keeping the government open, disaster relief, and aid for farmers," he added.
Democrats voted overwhelmingly against the second attempt at a continuing resolution Thursday evening, joining a few dozen Republicans in the process. This CR was backed by Trump, who called for the new bill to include suspending the debt ceiling. This bill would have done so until 2027.
Vice President-elect JD Vance and other Republicans also blasted the second attempt at a CR.
"The Democrats just voted to shut down the government, even though we had a clean CR, because they didn't want to give the president negotiating leverage during his first term or during the first year of his new term," Vance said in a statement. "And number two, because they would rather shut down the government and fight for global censorship bull****. They've asked for a shutdown and I think that's exactly what they're going to get."

Commentary:
Love it... This new game of parliamentary hardball. Gloves off. Marquis of Queensbury rules.
Trump likes prizefighting and a balanced budget with minimal pork sounds real good about now.
Or if not this year, well, whenever.
And tag-teaming with Elon and Vivek just makes it better...
This isn’t even 3D chess. Bringing it to the floor under suspension requires 2/3 vote, around 290. The minute Obama Mini-me Hakeem Jeffries announced Democrats were going to vote 'NO', the bill was dead, and all the debate and vote were kabuki theater. Now it’s either go through the rules committee, or let the government shut down for two weeks and have Trump and social media combat the Democrat propaganda machine. I like the latter, but either way is OK.
This was a secret closed door move of Schumer, McConnell last gasp move. Except the Bill was trimmed from 1,500 pages to a mere 117, taking out most of the pork packed into it.
It's no wonder that Democrats voted No. All their goodies were stricken from the CR .
Well, they'll just have to wait now until the new Congress takes their seats on January 3rd to solve this.

Republicans tell us we need to control the budget, the debt, and the deficit.

Trump says we should have no debt ceiling limit.

It's up to you, Freedom Caucus, to see if you mean what you say.

Democrats and the RINOs have already spent the money that needs to be paid. The debt ceiling has to be raised so we do not default.

Democrats and the deep swap are filthy liars. They should not if spent so much money that the debt ceiling must be raised.

I won't call you a liar, at this point you just believed what was dictated for you to believe

Both sides are playing the numbers for what they want.

Let's see what Musk and Ramaswamy can come up with.

We just watched the far right and the Dems cram Trump's plan up his ass, so it is obvious he is not as powerful as he thinks.

Let's see where we can come down in the middle.

A statement from President Donald J. Trump and Vice President-Elect JD Vance:

The most foolish and inept thing ever done by Congressional Republicans was allowing our country to hit the debt ceiling in 2025. It was a mistake and is now something that must be addressed.

Meanwhile, Congress is considering a spending bill that would give sweetheart provisions for government censors and for Liz Cheney. The bill would make it easier to hide the records of the corrupt January 6 committee—which accomplished nothing for the American people and hid security failures that happened that day. This bill would also give Congress a pay increase while many Americans are struggling this Christmas.

Increasing the debt ceiling is not great but we’d rather do it on Biden’s watch. If Democrats won’t cooperate on the debt ceiling now, what makes anyone think they would do it in June during our administration? Let’s have this debate now. And we should pass a streamlined spending bill that doesn’t give Chuck Schumer and the Democrats everything they want.

Republicans want to support our farmers, pay for disaster relief, and set our country up for success in 2025. The only way to do that is with a temporary funding bill WITHOUT DEMOCRAT GIVEAWAYS combined with an increase in the debt ceiling. Anything else is a betrayal of our country.

Republicans must GET SMART and TOUGH. If Democrats threaten to shut down the government unless we give them everything they want, then CALL THEIR BLUFF. It is Schumer and Biden who are holding up aid to our farmers and disaster relief. THIS CHAOS WOULD NOT BE HAPPENING IF WE HAD A REAL PRESIDENT. WE WILL IN 32 DAYS!

I think they are a good team, eh?
What a load of propoganda
