This does not last forever. Decline occurs as a nation atrophies. We exist off of more and more foreign made products. No form of employment makes a nation richer than manufacturing also with the side employment created. There are different levels with industrial, manufacturing, service, government, etc. Government employment is the worst as it takes taxpayers money with the creation of the employment. So, the footprint of creating many other jobs around it is far less.

Yea but let's be honest. We have 3rd world countries manufacturing shit that we don't want to manufacture at home. You can't afford those things if they are made in America.

Every country protects certain industries that are vital to their economies. I think car manufacturing should only be done in America. Too many good paying jobs to let those jobs go to Mexico.

I know the corporations will threaten to leave if we tax them or if union workers ask for too much. You can't leave. If you go you can't sell cars here. So not paying Americans well is not an option.

But then those workers can go on strike. I would say the government would have to be the arbitrator if that were the case. Perhaps the workers are asking for too much. But if not, the government can force the corporation to pay more fairly. If the CEO makes $50 million and all the VP's make $1 million then the employees better be making at least $60K a year.
