Where do you stand on State succession?

Do you support the right of States to succeed from the Union?

Fuck their approval. Who says the federal government would allow it even if they did approve?

Nothing in the Constitution says a state can't secede. Even if it did, I would say the Constitution has no authority to tell states they can't secede.

The theory that state have no right to secede is just plain bunk.

The problems associating with secession are overwhelming--because the Federal Government is into so much. Social Security/Medicare/Federal highway funds--(our freeways, etc.) Now whether or not the state is willing to take on all that cost--is another question. If so--then yes states should be able to succeed the union if the constituents of that state vote to do so.

But--I really don't see that happening any time soon.
 
I 100% support "state succession". I'd love to see all our states succeed and do well.

But "secession"? Not, I'm not for that.

And thankfully, the trend is right wingers who don't know the difference wont be elected much in the future.
 
For most of my life, I could not have contemplated the idea that I would support such a thing. But the curve of the country towards socialism and away from liberty is so steep that I would now not only embrace the idea, but move to a State that secession. What say you?
First of all I would look at the Ninth and Tenth Amendments and see how the power of the imperial Federal government has run roughshod over them both...and go from there.

First of all, how am I not admitting that I made a mistake? You want me to wail and cry and prostrate myself? Second of all, you're a retard. Neocons and tea partiers are contradictory. Tea partiers are fiscal conservatives and neocons are fiscal liberals. Neocons think the wars are the priority and tea parties think they're not. It's not possible to be a neocon/tea partier.

I'm against government spending and I am against the wars in the middle east. I am not a neocon in any aspect. But you call me a neocon because you're too butt stupid to know that words have meanings and actually use those meanings. You don't like neocons even though you vote for them and you don't like tea partiers. They are "bad." And bad is as deep as your limited intelligence grasps. I am directly contradictory to neocon. Calling me a tea partier isn't as stupid because my views aren't as contradictory to theirs, but it's a movement that I don't belong to and as a libertarian I am far more anti-government than they are.

Did it ever occur to YOU that the STATES and THE PEOPLE are their own sovereigns?

More power should be given to the states.
And if the power is already there the Federal government needs to back off.
