Truths, as articulated in free speech, never is on their side
The left is also guided by religion - they worship Government, thou shall have no gods above the Government.
The Democrat Party has no ideas that benefit the individual at the expense of the Government, that would be blasphemy

But ideology itself IS intellectual curiosity. Honestly advocating for certain values and beliefs is how we hone our values and beliefs.

That's the thing - ideology is the opposite of following a leader. It's following ideas, and ideals.

I think that ideology slowly closes the door to both curiosity and critical thinking as the individual becomes more attached. No doubt there will be exceptions, but in general I think the individual becomes more insulated within an ideology over time.

We'll have to disagree on that one.
