In 2016, Trump advised Newsome he should stop allowing north & central California water to drain off into the Pacific ocean, and should divert that water to Southern California, to refill their dry reservoirs.

In 9 years. with plenty of time to have done this, an on the sale needed, Newsome did practically nothing. Reservoirs remain dry, hydrants are dry, and firefighters are standing around doing nothing, unable to do their jobs.

Guess what bonehead Newsom did.. He sued to block Trump’s move, and succeeded in limiting the amount of water that can be pumped from the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. Damn fool.

Southern California is a desert. In the thirties William Mulholland built the aqueduct system to bring water to So Cal. Up until Jerry Brown was elected governor for the first time, the state kept spending money to keep the water system in balance with the growing population. He stopped that spending the money on social programs instead. Ever since, So Cal has been losing ground to the growing population. Newsome has refused to spend the proposition money voted for by the taxpayers on new water projects and kept releasing water through the Sacramento Delta to maintain the environment of the Delta Smelt, an invasive, non-native species.
