The New Civil Liberties Alliance (NCLA) filed a lawsuit against Illinois officials Tuesday over the state's Firearm Owners Identification Act, also known as the FOID Card Act, a state law that requires Illinois residents to apply for and carry an identification card at all times to possess any firearm or ammunition.

I carry a card for concealed carry but not just to own a gun. Whats the purpose of that? A drivers license is identification.

Massachusetts requires one of three levels of license to purchase, possess, or carry all types of firearms, tasers, stun guns, and OC spray. It’s $100 for a six year state-wide license, issued under (may-issue standards) at the town level. The laws on knife possession are quite stringent as well.
