When is the decision made to cancel a baseball game due to rain?

I placed a wager on two games tonight in NY and Baltimore and the ******* game has been delayed for almost an hour. So at what point is the decision made to cancel the game?

Gee...I don't know. How about when it starts raining?

So what?

And, so, after a rain delay of 3:35 on Monday/Tuesday, the Rangers overcame the weather, a plea from New York manager Joe Girardi, Aroldis Chapman and what's left of the Yankees for a 9-6 come-from-behind win with four runs in the ninth inning. At NY. Stadium almost empty. 2:40AM?

2016. They try to push NYY to WS every chance.

Well the Mets game was just cancelled and fucked up my bets

Since the feminists took over we see games cancellec or delayed much more then in the past. Even pro football has been affected. When I was a kid, netting at baseball games was just behind the plate! Now they are going to spread it down to the foul poles. That tells you there is a difference in who is sitting in the lower bowl seats. More women and children. Most not even paying attention to the game as they are on the wi fi phone, gabbing or sleeping or whatever else. There was an art at one time to talking baseball with another while watching a game. Since records do not mean anything anymore because of massive cheating and hot dogging is the standard today, the game has changed for the day and not for posterity.

I can understand the delay due to rain but was wondering if it keeps raining when they decide to cancel. But no football game should be cancelled unless it's lighting

We had to cancel a football game when it got dark at the high school where I taught because the power transformer for the field lights caught on fire.

Lighting?

When has a game been postponed or cancelled other than for lightning?

Regardless of the sporting event, Baseball, Football, NASCAR, Formula I (which race in the rain) Professional Soccer, whatever, if there is a lightning strike anywhere within 7 miles, the event must be halted until a half-hour after the last strike.

You need a new hobby.

why?

Gambling is ultimately a losing game.

You are a Dallas fan by your avatar I believe. Some years ago in Philly the mayor cancelled a Sunday football game due to snow. We had Vick at that time and were winning games big time. We played a Tuesday night game and looked terrible and never recovered. Baseball is hypocritical because of massive TV contracts. They have to get the game in. A baseball playoff game can have fans sit for many hours and not get cancelled due to rain.

I dont remember a football being cancelled due to snow

There have been a couple of games postponed due to snow. Not because the game could not be played on the field but because a massive storm was forecast and the city didn't want all those cars on the road in such a huge storm.

Not if you have a strategy or it's not raining lol

I was just refunded my money back since the game was called in the bottom of 8th inning

But you don't have a strategy or watch the forecast. Probably don't even keep up with the team members injuries and stats.

You're getting your panties in a twist over nothing. That's one reason.

I dont think it's a good idea for fans to watch a game if there is Lightning

OK, what doe sthat have to do with what I asked?

A game was cancelled tonight in Philly due to lightning. You think it's safe to watch a game in those conditions?????????

Try reading my posts before responding please.

Oh I see you posted OTHER THAN lightning. I can't answer that for baseball because I just starting watching this summer. Football games are only cancelled in the summer if there is lightning. Other than that I don't think a football game would be cancelled

When has a football game ever been cancelled except for lightning or hurricanes? None come to mind for me. I sat through a tropical storm in Florida once at an NFL game.

When they reschedule college games or cancel them due to hurricanes, that only make good sense. Are you thinking of something else?

Games do not get cancelled after the bottom of the 8th.

From the MLB website:

"If a regulation game is terminated early due to weather and the game is either tied or in the midst of an inning in which the visiting team has taken the lead, it becomes a suspended game that will be completed at a later date from the point of termination."

What is a Regulation Game? | Glossary

I don't think you should be betting on a game where you are obviously unfamiliar with the rules.
