George Will is a long time political pundit, and was a personal friend and advisor to Ronald Reagan. His conservative bona fides are impeccable. He is a conservative's conservative. This means MAGA is sure to dislike him.
When George Will is finding fault with the ICE thugs, then you know we are on the road to fascism for sure.
One day, a brown man arrives for work as a security guard at an agriculture plant. He has a driver's license which identifies him as "Army Veteran". He has a Disabled Veteran license plate. He has an "Iraq Combat Veteran" bumper sticker.
Doesn't matter. He's brown and ICE is blocking the road. He gets out of his car to ask them to let him by so he can get to work. They tell him that due to an immigration raid, the facility is shut down.
This is a lie.
ICE begins deploying tear gas to disperse some protesters, so the Iraq war veteran gets back in his car and tries to back his car up, but he is soon in such a massive cloud of tear gas, he can't see. So he stops in order not to hit any other vehicles or pedestrians.
ICE takes this as disobeying an order and they smash his window, pepper spray him, than drag him from the car and zip tie him. Then they leave him on the side of the road for four hours.
He keeps asking them to retrieve his wallet from the car to verify he is a citizen, but they refuse.
He is then taken to Navy facility and imprisoned for three days.
Despite his requesting a lawyer multiple times, he is ignored. When he asks what the charges are, he is met with silence.
After missing his daughter's third birthday, he is released after three days and told the charges have been dropped. "What charges", he asks, and gets a blank stare.
ICE tells more lies about what happend at the road block regarding the combat veteran, not knowing a television helicopter caught it all on video and validate the brown man's story.
Stop kidding yourselves, folks. This is a modern day Gestapo.
Something uncivilized is indeed happening. What jobs, if any, are recruits leaving for the glory of donning battle gear and masks (hiding what from whom?) and roaming U.S. communities, throwing their weight around and throwing unarmed people to the ground?
Retes had never been east of Texas before coming to Washington last week. He and an Institute for Justice attorney (Anya Bidwell, born in Kyrgyzstan, reared in Ukraine, serious about liberty), visited congressional offices urging legislators to facilitate holding federal officials accountable. Retes wants to add the italicized five words to an existing statute:
“Every person who, under color of any statute … of the United States or of any State … subjects, or causes to be subjected, any citizen … to the deprivation of any rights, privileges, or immunities secured by the Constitution and laws, shall be liable to the party injured…”

lazy democrat. here ya go.Surrender accepted… again
The fact that the Trumpers are denying the facts of the matter means they know this is wrong.
That's deep. We should totally write a constitutional amendment that protects us from these mistakes. These "whoopsie!" detentions and searches and such.Mistakes happen.
The camera followed the bus
CNN reported on it 3 months ago.My only question is, why can't I find this on CNN or msnbc, or slate or any of the other left wing media sites? I see it on npr and that's it
This would have been on every news outlet, wouldn't it?
I typed in google machine and nothing came up up one article from npr and then some articles of unrelated storiesCNN reported on it 3 months ago.
As did MSNBC, apparently:
Not in that video because the cameras moved away… clearlyNice conspiracy theory, there's no indication that any agents approached his vehicle after he cleared the lane for the ICE convoy.
.
If ICE has identified 400,000 violent criminals and NOT deported them… maybe they need to be investigatedlazy democrat. here ya go.
