Judge Vows to End Trump Administration’s Noncompliance ā€˜One Way or Another’

The federal judge identified 210 orders issued in 143 cases in Minnesota in which he said Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials had not complied with court orders.

The chief federal judge in Minnesota accused federal officials of continuing to disobey judicial orders related to immigration enforcement and then mischaracterizing the scope of their missteps.

The judge, Patrick Schiltz, threatened to hold government officials in criminal contempt if the pattern continued, writing in a scathing order on Thursday that, ā€œone way or another, ICE will comply with this court’s orders.ā€

ā€œThe court is not aware of another occasion in the history of the United States in which a federal court has had to threaten contempt — again and again and again — to force the United States government to comply with court orders,ā€ wrote Judge Schiltz, who was nominated to the bench by President George W. Bush.

Across the country, federal judges have repeatedly called out Trump administration officials in recent weeks for testifying dishonestly, representing the law inaccurately and failing to comply promptly with their orders,
especially on immigration-related matters. Tensions between the judiciary and the Trump administration have been especially high in Minnesota, where the courts have been overwhelmed with lawsuits stemming from a crackdown on illegal immigration.

Fans of MAGA may have forgotten this but the routine violation of court orders by the federal government is not normal. Or at least it wasn't until trump 2.0 got rolling.

You folks have a choice in dealing with this info. Employ the many means of denial, deflection, whataboutisms, etc. Or, perhaps uniquely, acknowledge the fault for this doesn't lie with the liberal media, out of control judges, or trumpian victimhood. The fault lies with the regime collectively deciding, directed by Don, to disregard any order of the court it does not feel the need to obey. That's the definition of lawlessness.

Did Patrick Schitz himself yet? Maybe the idiot can report ICE to the Fed and have the government arrested. I would not hold my breath Judgie waiting to get your way. District courts do not issue edicts to their employer.

Look at how many things he's already done that have been shot down on legal/constitutional grounds.

The craven White House and congressional enablers just stand there, afraid, and the useful idiots don't know any better.

There's always more than one way to do something. For some reason, he just can't do things the right way. There has to be chaos.

The right way would be appeal a court order, not violate it. Regrettably, trump's feeling that he is personally above the law has translated to running the government as though IT is above the law.

As you mentioned, this wouldn't be possible without his enablers. First and foremost in this matter being the blonde sock puppet. She should have resigned long ago, it is her duty to the country based on the oath she took to have resigned long ago, rather than participate in the lawlessness. Every member of the cabinet, including Susie Wiles, Vance, and Todd Blanche, is complicit in what is happening.

It's turning out that standards have been eliminated not just for Trump, but for his obedient confederates as well.

This is now the "Yeah? Really? So what? What are you gonna DO about it? LOL" regime.

As I always say: The world has seen this before.

Another puerile reaction I've seen is to applaud what the regime is doing. They can't defend it so they claim to like it. I've seen the line, "this is what I elected him to do" quite often. Taking ownership of the calamity by pretending it isn't calamity at all.

This, after they obsessed for years about unethical things Hunter Biden did while not even being a public official but rather being related to one.

ā€˜In some two dozen cases stemming from President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown in Minnesota that CNN has reviewed, federal judges appointed to the bench by Democrats and Republicans have had to use terms like ā€œcontemptā€ and ā€œnoncomplianceā€ to get the government’s attention to respond to court orders.

To date, it doesn’t appear that any judge in the District of Minnesota has held an agency official or Justice Department attorney in civil contempt of court or imposed sanctions in cases related to Operation Metro Surge. But the sheer number of threats is significant.

Many of the punishment threats have arisen in cases where judges concluded that an immigrant was unlawfully arrested and must immediately be released. Other compliance issues have bubbled up when Immigration and Customs Enforcement releases a noncitizen with certain conditions that they weren’t subject to prior to their arrest, enraging a judge who never gave permission to impose such constraints.

ā€œThis is clearly not tenable,ā€ Judge Laura Provinzino, an appointee of former President Joe Biden, told one top government attorney late last month. ā€œI can’t continue to have (federal prosecutors) violating really important orders … If somebody should be released, that has to happen.ā€ā€™

Yeah, this is one of the behaviors that have made this such an interesting sociological/psychological study.

I watched a guy who had escaped the cult explaining how they justify claiming to be moral and Christian, while cheering on a guy who's essentially the opposite of the Jesus they pretend to follow. He said the mindset/excuse is, "it takes a barbarian to defeat the barbarians". Which also provides insight to what they think of anyone across the the spectrum who isn't in the cult.

So it remains difficult to tell if they're really celebrating, or if down deep they know better.

Every time I discuss trump with acquaintances who support him they invariably look down indicating being uncomfortable. It's like they know they are doing something wrong but can't help themselves.
