Christianity is about faith rather than common sense. It's foundation of an immaculate conception and subsequent crucifixion for our sins is not an easy thing for a rational person to believe. A one and done life on Earth that condemns us to eternal Hell if we do not love and accept God reeks of coercion, and the centuries of persecution and the Inquisition does not correlate with a just and loving God. If you are a believer and find some peace of mind as a result, then I'm happy for you. But it's not my choice.
