If thats the case it sounds to me it worked exactly as it should be. You see jobs were created for poverty stricken people.

The problem you have is you seem to be stuck on this notion that only Americans are allowed to work. Somehow we are entitled to all the jobs.

Of course, you also ignore the fact that we wouldnt be shipping jobs overseas if government stopped artificially raising costs in all major industries.

And here I thought you got it. American jobs were lost to overseas industries; entire American industries were wiped out; entire communities wiped out because of it. Hello? And you also need to recognize that in the 90s, wages kept pace with costs which shoots major holes in your theory that costs were "artificially" imposed. The problem was, and I blame both Clinton and Bush 41, is opening up trade carte blanche and neglecting to have their administrations follow through on the failsafe provisions in the trade agreements which would have protected the American worker at the same time as providing an expansion of employment to the partner nation. The rest is history. All you need to do is look at the trade DEFICIT, which was never intended.

How true. I lost an uncle to the streets of Seattle, an alcoholic and drug addict. When he got home from Nam, he tried to integrate back into the family that loved him, but once he started talking about incidents, he just couldn't handle the memories. The movie that literally sent him packing for places unknown was "Apocalypse Now."

And MY FATHER had no trouble at all. After 2 tours in Viet Nam. He continued to serve in the Army til retirement. He was a Sgt in Vietnam BOTH times and got so badly wounded on the second tour he spent 3 months in Japan in a hospital where they were not sure he would live or die.

He was an alcoholic, but Vietnam didn't do that. He was never a druggie and he did not have violent flash backs.

He was a Grunt, He spent his time on patrol and doing major operations. No stories at all about atrocities or out of control American troops. That is pure Hollywood BULLSHIT.

The destruction of the American Family began in earnest in the 60's with the Liberal agenda. Now a days your children have more rights then the parents, or rather the Government uses the courts to make it so. Illegal Courts I might add. Family Courts are ILLEGAL. They do not assume innocent till proven guilty at all. They deny you the right to a trial by your peers as well. Further they claim they can do this because they are not criminal in nature, yet they take your children, they take your money and can lead to imprisonment.

I think it began way before that rgs...not that your thoughts on this have no merit, because I believe they do and this too could be another spoke in that wheel to the destruction, of feelings and caring that comes with the family unit.

I believe that Americans are as capable as the generations that came before them. I see it everyday in my daughter and her friends and marvel at the intelligent way these kids carry themselves and it gives me hope that all is not lost. I do believe that Americans rather than become a nation of problem solvers and a nation with vision has handed that ability to a Govt. to do that for them. Who's at fault you ask? it's a society that teaches young people it's okay to want without earning, and expect without doing. Americans do have the aiblity to change the course of this nation and take back what has become stagnant, all they need to do is just get off their collective asses and do so. This nation is not lost , and will never give up on it no matter what or who is in power. Americans need to demand more from those who represent them and STOP voting for the SAME people year after year and then complain that the country is on the wrong track. Democrat and Republican have both sat back on their collective hands and watched as industry after industry moved offshore, Steele, Textiles, High Tech, etc.. all for various reasons taxes, environmental restrictions, high wages. This nation has become one of factions of special interests rather than a nation bound by the concepts of liberty and hard work. If we wish to recapture those and I submit that spirit is alive in America then it's time to not look to others to solve our own problems and that inculdes our Govt. and solve them ourselves.

When was the last time that we were engaged in a war that had a definitive end where we were the victors and the opposing side surrendered in defeat.
