Not beef.

Beef prices have soared in the US — and not just during grilling season

The average price of a pound of ground beef rose to $6.12 in June, up nearly 12% from a year ago, according to U.S. government data. The average price of all uncooked beef steaks rose 8% to $11.49 per pound.

President Donald Trump's tariffs have yet to have a major impact on beef prices but they could be another factor that drives prices higher because the U.S. imports more than 4 million pounds of beef every year.

Much of what is imported is lean beef trimmings that meatpackers mix with fattier beef produced in the U.S. to produce the varieties of ground beef that domestic consumers want. Much of that lean beef comes from Australia and New Zealand that have only seen a 10% tariff, but some of it comes from Brazil where Trump has threatened tariffs as high as 50%.

If the tariffs remain in place long-term, meat processors will have to pay higher prices on imported lean beef. It wouldn't be easy for U.S. producers to replace because the country's system is geared toward producing fattier beef known for marbled steaks.

Prices will likely stay high

Trump was relentless toward Biden about grocery prices.

Fox "News" was on board with this propaganda: Prices of eggs, milk, steak up since Biden took office

Trump's supporters didn't want to hear anything about the bird flu. They put egg prices all on Biden.

So no excuses for Trump and the price of steak, mm-kay?

Karma is a *****.

LoL!

The price of steak is now the main concern of Demorats and "not Democrats?"

Don't worry, I'll be fine. The restaurants where I eat steak serve cuts far more expensive than those prices due to the quality of the meat (IOW, not from Walmart), and the fine service from competent people.

Your SNAP card "beef" hot dogs and McBurgers don't have much beef anyway, so you'll be fine, or at least no worse off than yesterday before you read this.

I wonder why Democrats aren’t complaining about gas prices?

I had an awesome 16 oz seared prime rib at Texas Roadhouse a couple weeks ago and it was around 30 bucks. That seems about what I've always paid, maybe even a little less. My favorite burrito place raised their prices a buck on carne asada burritos. Fine with me. What's the big deal? :dunno:

Trump cut off their welfare? They are angry now that they can no longer consume beef on taxpayers’ dime and must pay out of pocket.

Wait, most of your beef is local I presume,.right? Tariffs aren't going to impact of that is the case.

Prices are rising just like Trump’s ankle size. Kankle size?

Beef is rising in $ but would agree that tariffs are probably (at least not now) to blame. They don't help, though.

Trump won because of egg prices. LOL Maybe it had something to do with his strong PRO-AMERICA MESSAGE while the Democrats imploded and made Kamala the candidate.
Trump won on a mountain of lies.

Just like the first time.

His voters are the most credulous, just-fell-off-the-turnip-truck, rubes in history.

Paid $2.999 per gallon to fill up today. Cheapest gas in town. Texas average is 2.779. I thought this is where most of our gas is refined.

"His Voters" are the broadest cross section of Americans in recent history. Common sense, America First, close the God damn border. The dwindling cult of Democrat supporters cling to the droppings of the Democrat Media.

All that is true if you believe people like Alex Jones and Glenn Beck.
