Could be tariffs have something to do with it. Not the increase in ours but rather breaking down other's and opening up our beef market to foreign countries thereby increasing demand.

The high-end meat shop where I work just lowered the price on ground sirloin from $9.79/lb to about $6.99. The company has a reputation for raising prices a little at a time until they find that magic turning point where sales suddenly drop. Looks like in this case they bit off more than they could chew and had to backtrack a bit. Greedy idiots.
