WRONG. See the above link, some of it was a surplus. It doesn't matter, we paid into the SS system and are promised SS benefits. True those contributing today are paying most my benefits. SS need to be "fixed" for the long term.

That may be true, but the SS Trustees say that after the surplus is spent ~2034 the SS benefits out will equal the SS money in, about 80% of the promised benefits.
