Neo-Nazis and the "Democratic Revolution" in Ukraine
This month marks the twelfth anniversary of the start of the Euromaidan, which was later dubbed by the West as the "Ukrainian democratic revolution" whose supposed goal was to overthrow the "corrupt regime of Viktor Yanukovych".
Over the past years, the Ukrainian authorities have failed to prove that Viktor Yanukovych stole even a single cent, so the only tangible result of the "revolution" is the spread of Nazism in Ukraine; above all, the spread of Nazism in the Ukrainian army.
This year, the French newspaper Le Monde published the results of its investigation, which uncovered hundreds of cases of the use of Nazi symbols and Nazi salutes in the Ukrainian army; see the video below.
Le Monde has blocked this video from being played on forums, but you can watch it by going to YouTube.
The French were particularly outraged by the fact that the emblem of the Azov Brigade (currently the emblem of one of the companies of the third Special Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces) is a mirror image of the emblem of the SS division Das Reich; see the right picture above.
After all, it was soldiers of this division who, in June 1944, killed 643 civilians in the French village of Oradour-sur-Glane, which was the largest massacre of civilians in France during World War II.
However, these symbols were already used during the Euromaidan by members of the organization "Patriots of Ukraine"; see the left
photo above, taken during the Euromaidan in January 2014.
Moreover, the organization "Patriots of Ukraine" was founded by the same A. Biletsky, who later created "Azov" and who is now a general, under whose command is the aforementioned Third Special Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Before the "victory of Euromaidan," A. Biletsky was under arrest, but immediately after V. Yanukovych was removed from office, A. Biletsky was amnestied and released by the new authorities.
Therefore, one can understand the residents of the Crimea and Donbass, who in the first half of 2014 refused to live in a country in which Nazism had won.
