What the hell? Windmills falling over...just collapsing!!

Wind is less than a quarter of what they use in Texas. Folks in Austin are starting their 3rd day with no power and the temps were in the high 20's for about 18 hours...

That’s now. It seems the plans are for this nation to eventually be totally powered by green energy.

In our lifetimes, fossil fuel vehicles will become extinct, and the smokestacks of electricity plants powered by coal or gas will cease to emit their filth.

However I feel there is hope that the push for solar and wind power will be replaced by Fusion power. Nuclear power without all the danger.

[1]Advocacy group Fusion Industry Association claimed that at least 15 private fusion companies have applied for the grants, with applications closing on Thursday.

Among the applicants is California-based Longview Fusion Energy Systems, which is working in collaboration with the University of Oklahoma in order to develop concepts to build and operate commercial power plants, according to a report in The Norman Transcript.

“At this point, we are positioning ourselves to build the first-of-a-kind power plant – there will be many in the future,” Tomás Díaz de la Rubia, vice president for Research and Partnerships at the University of Oklahoma, told the local paper.

“We’ll be the first one to develop and manufacture infrastructure that goes around the first-of-a-kind plant. It’s going to create thousands of jobs. It’s going to be a multibillion dollar project... I have no doubt, with our partners and others, to turn this scientific discovery into a successful fusion power plant that connects to the grid that generates power, it’s a game changer.”[/i]

What you need is good old fashioned de luxe electricity produced from reliable coal as its source .

For safe and reliable energy , think fossil fuel .

Do it for your children and theirs.
Be safe and responsible .

Yet you're the only one who brought up race.

You guys are obsessed with it. We get it...you hate brown and black people. You need to get over it.

LoL... triggered much? :bye1:

Only thing that matters in life honey is.... who's not winning?!!

Windmills and solar still providing only 7% of US grid electricity.

I would estimate a year or more. Those wind turbines are big and expensive and there may be a shortage of them.

If we went to total green power it might be wise to mothball some gas or coal powered power stations as a backup.

313851/As a lifelong loser...I'm sure "winning" matters to you a great deal.

306>232. #winning.

Winning is everything in life...symbolic shit and rhetoric= ghey.

1) Voters don't care about climate change.
2) Renewable energy in the form of solar/wind fringe in the US.
3) China and India build 3-4 new coal plants EVERY MONTH and will to 2030.
4) Americans show very little interest in electric vehicles ( just 2% of vehicles on US roads)

If one is a progressive, it's called epic lOsiNg.

And speaking of ePiC, behold the most prolific/hero thread the ENVIRONMENT forum has ever seen >>>

It was an ice storm, dummy. Downed power lines due to trees.
