What should happen to Nick Reiner?

How ironic is it that this worthless sot, who appears never to have been gainfully employed, has hired a million-dollar defense attorney with his father's money?

This case, like many others in recent years, will showcase the folly of American criminal law, where a manifestly guilty person can string the whole thing out for years, when someone of lesser means would be convicted promptly and sent away.

Truly, he could cop a plea right now and be out in ten years.

The first thing his siblings should do is remove him from access to his parent's estate.

Here's my opinion. No lawyers, no sob stories about his drug addiction. Speedy trial. Do not pass go, do not collect $200, do not make the lawyers rich. This to be followed by speedy execution, or if that's too harsh, send the bastard to Alaska and put him a labor camp for the rest of his life.

Send a message!!

He's being tried in California. California district attorneys generally can't get a conviction on anything, so chances are, he skates. Or ends up doing a few months in the puzzle factory before they turn him loose.

There might not even be a trial at all. He might just be sent to some nice hospital and taken care of. There's no reason to drag family laundry through the mud.

Or until the stupid shrinks tell us he’s cured and they let him go
They dont do that anymore. Although CA is capable of anything. He cant make legal insanity claim even though psychologically he is psychotic. He will end up in the mental wing of prison.

I hope you are right but dont bet the rent money on it
I looked it up and Im not hopeful.. CA does have an insanity defense that if successful would put him in a locked mental hospital. He will be medicated and stable and then the fight for parole starts. Some states have guilty but insane and they stay in prison

Structure the legal framework. Siblings get a conservatorship over him effectively removing him from control or use of any inheritance. This action would certainly be used to have Nick declared incompetent to even have a trial after all. Quietly put Nick away for the rext of his life. Attorney gets a big payday for very little work.

No insanity defense necessary. There shouldn't even be a trial.

I dont think its parole

If the shrinks declare him sane they have to let him go
