What Should Democrats do?

Since the election, we have heard all the experts telling Democrats what they need to do. Most of it has contained capitulating to the right on every issue. That isn't a solution.

Here are some good ideas. Of course, the right won't like them, but we aren't here to pander to the right.

And I know if I don't find a link it will create excuses...

So here is what Democrats should do.

Stupid list

Stay the course! Pile on with hyper woke social engineering. People love that shit!
You guys are really stupid. This nation is built on social engineering. What Republicans represent is continued social engineering. Explain what woke is.

Trump didn't win because of any of the things you guys say. The story is that people voted for lower prices. Woke and none of this shit has anything to do with lower prices. So then if people actually voted for the racism you don't want opposed, fuck that, Democrats do not need to ppease pepe who want that.

So what these guys are saying is that it's fine for Republicans to bully people, but Democrats must just take it.

Keep on keepin' on!

If you think it is fine for Republicans to bully but tell Democrats t stop, nobody needs to listen to you. Democrats have won 3 of the last 4 National elections. But now that Republicans win 1, everybody is supposed to stop and do what Republicans and right-leaning independents think. So you go ahead and keep voting based on your white fragility and watch this nation die.

Maybe you don't realize it, but this is exactly the same justification MAGA use for their bullshit. Almost word for word.

Two favorites, eggs down, gas down, illegals out border closed, corrupt politicians exposed stellar hire

Moderates and centrists on both ends are fully marginalized now -- it's obviously all about the screamers at this point -- but they're still trying.

Centrist Democrats are convinced they hold the answers to their party’s problems

Democrats are still staring down bleak polling numbers about their party’s brand, even as President Donald Trump’s favorability also has dropped. The answer to Democrats’ troubles at WelcomeFest, the moderate Democrats’ Coachella, include: purity tests are toxic, being unpopular on the social media site Bluesky is cool and winning again means running to the center.

“There’s a hunger for people to work together, to try to find solutions and to talk in common sense terms,” said Rep. Tom Suozzi (D-N.Y.), who won a much-heralded special election in 2024 by calling out his own party on immigration policies.

“Most Americans are Blue Dogs,” Gluesenkamp told writer Matt Yglesias, and noted only 10 Democrats remain in the once-robust Blue Dog Caucus. “Politics has become irrelevant to most people because it has excluded the things that touch their life. It’s about making politics more relevant to more people.”

/——/ Go for it. It’s a sure winner.

Nice dry and droll humour .

But at least IQ-2.0 's post shows us how far he and like minded simple souls are from Economic and Social facts .
Unreal and unwell .

And that's after allowing for his dangerous Obsessive and Racist general outlook

I don't think returning to sane government will require giving up on ideology or strong opinions. But we must recognize that forcing a particular policy through Congress is counter-productive without broad support. It doesn't move us forward. I just leaves half the country spoiling for revenge.

For example, I've been a lifelong libertarian. If I had my druthers we's strip three-fourths of federal regulation, get rid of most of the alphabet agencies, legalize health care and radically rework our civil rights approach. But I recognize that those policies aren't something most people can get behind right now, and if I want to move things in that direction - in any meaningful way - I need to persuade people that it's a good idea. Even if I could snap my fingers and install Ron Paul as President, I wouldn't want him to go apeshit with executive orders pushing my preferred changes on the country. Without support, the policies would be under constant attack and likely fail - and probably leave us worse off (from a liberty perspective).

This is what the ends of the spectrum absolutely refuse to see.

When you collaborate and innovate, both ends have skin in the game. Both ends do whatever they can to make it work. When you don't, you'll always have one end trying to sabotage the other. In a complex world, that's a pretty simple fucking thing to understand.

It worked for our Constitution. Maybe we just aren't good enough any more.

The Constitution was made for free people. Not victims who think they need to be saved by government. Which is the zeitgeist of the times.

Why do Dems need to do anything different? Dems 100% believe in everything they have been saying and doing the past 4 years right.
