Sorry, I don’t play that game. I expect a short term return on the investment of my time, energy and money. I have no interest in deferred returns on my investments. That’s why I don’t engage with either religion or the stock market.

The Truth doesn’t care which games you play. It exists independent of your perceptions.

In the 27+ years I wasted on Religion, I cannot find a single positive return in the time, energy and money I invested into the church. Nothing.

In the 21+ years since I walked away… my life has improved dramatically. My career is better, I’m married to a magnificent woman, I own a home and have a wonderful family (my wife’s family) around me. My health is about the same, but that’s about the only downside.

which religions did you investigate?

Again, the Francis Church is not Catholic so .. did you investigate TRUE Catholicism?

My life has not been fun since I began following Christ but that is not HIS fault OR Catholicisms fault (real Catholicism, that is). It is the fault of all the people in the world (my world) who do not follow Him and yet I have to live among said folks.. hasn't always worked out, to say the least. I can honestly say that I am virtually blameless in the loss of these so called relationships.. I only add the word Virtually because I do acknowledge I'm a sinner and etc.. But really, it was not my fault PERIOD (unless I am just supposed to adopt lies in order to "get along"...?). I was interacting w/ people who didn't like Jesus.. some claimed to, but didn't adhere to all or even most of His teachings. They had more important things to do.

Then there is this: All the material and other blessings this world appears to offer are going to go away at your death.. Then what?

Pretty much everything I could find within about a 30 mile radius of where I lived. Not every individual church, but I tried to talk to people from every different denomination and faith system as I could find… Catholic, Protestant, Hebrew, Islamic, Buddhist, Hindu, New Age, Pagan, etc…

None of them were able to come up with an answer to my simple question. A fair number didn’t even try. Many gave me a dog and pony show.
