Massie may or may not mean well. I won't judge him personally but I will strongly criticize him for handing the Democrats a propaganda tool even though he was unsuccessful in sidetracking the BBB.

Some self-important people want to grandstand instead of work to get reasonable compromise or they are single issue fanatics and demand that it be their way or no way at all. The fact is that in really important legislation that contains any controversy at all, pretty much nobody is going to get every single thing they want.

Ultimately you get the best deal you can, even if imperfect, that is a good improvement over the status quo and go with that along with the understanding that it can be tweaked or adjusted or improved later on.

To demand your way or the highway will generally hand the victory to the Democrats that pretty much don't promote anything worthwhile or beneficial for America or Americans these days.

I am really proud of the GOP for getting it done. In the past, facing such really loud and severe opposition as they faced they would probably have just given up, put back on the shelf with a shrug and 'we tried.' They didn't give up this time but stayed with it and got it done. That I am confidence is largely due to leadership, i.e. President Trump, who just doesn't have 'give up' or 'quit' in his DNA.
