What is the true population of china?

True but as far as I know there is no government disputing that statistic. However in 2016 their one child birth laws were rescinded and a two chid policy came into being. In 2021 that was rescinded and they created a three child policy. This was done because of falling birth rates and their population was decreasing.

China could declare a 4 child policy but that will not cause couples to have more children

One factor is the crappy chinese economy

I know, we’re being told by pro china shills that the chinese economy is doing great

But that appears to be a lie

I think a growing number of young people just don't want kids. They want to work and travel, save, and buy things. It's a trend that's growing across the globe and there's really no way to reverse the trend.

No it didn't cause people to have more children. By the way the Chinese economy is doing fine because the US trade deficit with China was $295 billion dollars in 2024.

That chart also shows that in 1985 the US trade deficit with China was $6 million. Has gone up quite a bit since then.
But now its going down

Yes at one time everyone thought trade with china would turn the communists into non-threatening capitalists

The thinking was even if American workers lost their jobs friendship with china and cheap imports was worth the sacrifice

But things didnt turn out as wunnerful as expected

In part because too many middle income Americans had to sacrifice too much

Yes and now Americans have to sacrifice more because of the tariffs. Myself I haven't seen a news story that states prices will go down because of the tariffs.

I think it will raise some prices

But the payoff is more American jobs and less dependence and a larger industrial base
