What happens if drug prices are lowered?

Thanks for the input from Woodznutz, Harry Dresden and Captain Caveman. Good to hear from people close to my age (almost 71). I do believe (to a certain extent) in modern medicine, but for me, that is like saying I trust the intelligence community (again to an extent) and the closer it gets to personal involvement or people close to me, the less likely to abstractly trust and act in reliance without deeper personal investigation with multiple sources.
Sorry Board for distracting from the actual Topic of the OP. I do believe, the US can and should have a better extension of and standard for healthcare, no matter the income level, since profit of this entire sector is through the roof, while the US is far from top in providing healthcare and lagging on longevity (by international standard), across the board, in the richest nation on earth.

As a nurse who’s spent many years administering meds to residents in nursing homes, I can say with absolute certainty that old people who stop taking the meds their doc prescribed them almost always have a bad outcome from doing so

when you take statins you should take a CQ10 supplement....i have never experienced muscle weakness or joint pain after my cardiologist told me about them....
I've never had high cholesterol, or high BP.

Rich nation = rich foods= poor health.

Nursing homes are where old people go to die. Life expectancy after admission, one year at most.

That’s definitely not true. I’ve taken care of many residents who live in the home for many years

Sorry, it's 2.2 years. Other sources I accessed were clearly wrong.

I’m not even sure what your point is? Nursing homes cannot be blamed.

Everybody dies.

People who are admitted to a care facility because their condition has deteriorated to a point where they require 24/7 nursing care are obviously going to die much, much sooner than the general population.

That’s just common sense.

And trust me, in the vast majority of cases the residents receive better care then they did at home from family.

This despite the fact that my CNAs have to care for 10 totally dependent and incontinent people during their shift, while families have the luxury of providing 1:1 care.

You take care of ten adults who need to be fed, dressed, changed and transferred out of bed with mechanical lifts or with backbreaking, repetitive muscle power.

Try it. See how much time you have to devote to each individual out of that 10. Give it a try.

Sorry, apple and oranges.

I never had any aches or pains on atorvastatin, been taking it over a year. Did lower my bad cholesterol and raise my good.

Anyways, I’d say high cholesterol is more dangerous than some muscle cramps
