The best recommendations for dealing with insomnia

While I'm not a doctor, the routine I've used in the past includes:
  • Exercise
  • Limited to no screen time (i.e. TV, Phone, Tablet, Laptop) before resting
  • Sleep schedule/routine
  • Limited caffeine / alcohol

If you have a Marijuana store you can ask them or Google it. As far as sleeping, breathing helps. Inhale deeply for 4 seconds, Hold for 7 seconds and exhale for 8 seconds. Repeat if needed.

Look for the ones that say they have indica in them. Those are the sleepy-time gummies

The best recommendations for dealing with insomnia
I take 5 to 10 mg melatonin 30 minutes to an hour before going to bed. It makes me sufficiently sleepy that I usually drop right off. Because it is a natural substance in our brain but diminishes as we get older, it is non habit forming and, unless one seriously overdoes it, it is perfectly safe. A couple of Tylenol at bedtime can also help an older person relax as it soothes out the little aches and pains that can disturb sleep.

Tylenol PM (or the generic formula) is also effective for many people but there is some concern of a possible link between the Benedryl in the pills and dementia. But my doctor didn't seem to concerned about that so if I am having serious insomnia problems, I will use those in addition to the melatonin. One must be very careful not to take too much Tylenol in a 24 hour period though or it can cause severe liver damage. Otherwise for most people it is quite safe without the severe side effects of the Nsaids (Ibuprofen, Naproxen, Aspirin etc.)

I have sleepapnia and other sleeping issues. I've tried EVERYTHING and nothing works.

I asked my Dr about those special gummies, and he said they wouldn't help. And they might interfere with my other meds.

So, I just suffer not sleeping.
