The problem is that political power is actually easy to achieve. All one has to do is lie and tell the people what they want to hear, and when that doesn't work you make them afraid and lie again saying you can protect them. This captures enough people to make a majority that even the best constitution can't overcome. It is the secret to the success of the democrat party from 1992 until recently. It was the secret of the GOP from the 50's until the 90's. Today we have an even split where both parties are working out who can lie better and cause more fear. Only the smartest of the electorate know to avoid the fear and the lies. Only when the overwhelming majority of the electorate is smart enough to avoid the political propaganda will we have good governance. Until then most people will put their faith in of the two corrupt parties and the two corrupt parties will control the masses.
