I find germans constantly posting about germany to be boring.

Flags are the symbols of nationalism. You have to be a fool to admire them strictly for their artistic appearance. That reminds me of the early flags the rebel American colonists used. The separated snake was inspiring as well as the legendary "don't tread on me". That was back in the day when disrespecting the Union Jack could ger you hanged.
