Your cartoon labels seem screwy. In your first scene, everyone seems to have the same box (equality opportunity). In the second scene, the spectators are free to use those boxes as they see fit. No one has guaranteed one person will get more boxes than someone else. That's left up to the spectators. You see, nobody said the GENERAL WELFARE of the citizenry shouldn’t be the concern of government...quite the contrary actually, I have said Father Government should be concerned with the GENERAL WELFARE of the citizenry and not the WELFARE of factions within the citizenry.

If you look at the 2019 Budget (below), especially the Welfare and Medicaid line items, you see that the $900b deficit can be offset by reducing welfare and medicaid as well as other reductions, such as in Defense. While the economy is at its highest level, and at full employment, with jobs all over, we should really be sure that the recipients of welfare and medicaid are truly deserving, and are US citizens. IMHO the dems give out freebies too easily thereby ensuring that the dependency on their democrat plantations is assured. I'm hoping that Trump makes sure that there are more people pulling the wagon than riding in it.

So by your figures, we spend twice as much on middle class entitlements - Social Security and Medicare - than we do on "Welfare" - Medicaid and Welfare. That's not even including other middle class entitlements like veterans benefits, or unemployment. Unemployment spending was 48 BILLION in 2019 when we supposedly had "full employment", but it skyrocketed up to 250 BILLION in 2020, as millions lost their jobs in TRUMP PLAGUE and people got extra money from the government so middle class folks wouldn't revolt. Not to mention the $1800 every middle class family got in payouts so far, with another $1400 to come.

We're all Socialists now.

Of course, the biggest ticket of all is CORPORATE WELFARE, which you guys are generally fine with. There was over 500 billion spent on Corporate Welfare in just the CARES act.

No, the boxes represent what the government has to give out
