is get the environment to it's best place. It's a difficult thing to do and we're not there yet. If we could have 100% solar and wind we would but we can't. Germany tried. They got rid of all the coal plants and had to re open them. BUT, they are back up to over 50%.

Democrats aren't anti fracking. We're just trying to get the environment to it's best place.

do you have an EV yet bobo?....

There are a number of problems with that whole save the earth idea.
First off is the technology is not there.
Second is our need for electricity is continuing to increase and with server farms, AI and EVs it will get even worse.
Third is current batteries are based on lithium which is not exactly the largest portion of the earth.
Lastly China and India are worse polluters then we are and China is planning on building approximately four coal fired power plants a year for the next ten years.

Crushing Earth with high energy costs because youre against oil, isnt good for the environment. Solar panels arent good for the environment. Electric car batteries are not good for the environment. Nothing we as a nation do, even if we went back to the fucking dark ages and stopped using oil and electricity altogether, STILL wouldnt make a fucking dent in global carbon emissions.

You know what would be good for the whales and other oceanic creatures? We stop eating seafood. You know what would be good for cows and chickens? We stop eating them. You know what would be good for the trees? We stop building homes and go back to living in caves.

You dems dont have a clue about how to address ANY problem, let alone the environment. :cuckoo:

Dems own their anti carbon fuel stand so don't even try to weasel out of it.

Remember how your ilk told us to learn to code?

Given the lay-offs in tech you might want to learn to mine coal or be pipeline fitters.

Very true. We also can’t have economic independence relying on oil. All OPEC needs to do is cut production by 15% and the equivalent of half of our production is wiped out from global markets spiking prices. We are their bitch basically until we dont need oil .

Republicans have always supported the environment as long as it doesn’t impact profits

But are willing to sacrifice long term environmental impacts for short term profits
If the world universally agreed to stop using oil and stopped using any pollutant, it would cause the future destruction of Earth. When we use oil, we make a ton of money. The more oil we use, the more money is made. The more money we make, the more we invest in technology. The more we invest in technology, the more likely we are to solve Earth's biggest problems, which isnt the fucking environment.

Earth's biggest threats are the Yellowstone Caldera and asteroids. There is a date when one of those two things is going to wipe out our planet. We dont know when that date is, but if we arent advanced enough when that time comes, its all over. For all we know, we need to actually poison the planet MUCH more through use of oil in order to get advanced enough to save the planet. We might not be going hard enough right now. If this shit happens in 10 years, then we certainly fucked up by trying to "save the environment". There wont be an environment anymore at that point.

Youre worried about global temps rising a degree, when there are FAR bigger threats that ARE coming our way. Its simply a matter of time. Environmentalists very well might be pushing an agenda that kills all life on our planet.

We’re not going back.

No but what we are trying to do Harry is get the environment to it's best place. It's a difficult thing to do and we're not there yet. If we could have 100% solar and wind we would but we can't. you're on a roll this morning sealy.

some of the small steps needed to preserve the earth conservation, efficiency, recycling, self and community sustainability are not expensive and are as american as apple pie and poor richard's almanac.

1. So what?
2. So what? Keep trying. Keep going greener. Every new home with solar panels on the roof is good right?
3. So what? We are new to this EV/Hybrid thing. We need to get there.
4. So what? So what China and India now pollute just as much as we used to? When we solve this, they'll buy our green technology. Or steal it.

The Democrats have no plan to replace fossil fuels. In fact, those who look at the global picture and see what is keeping our world turning know that fossil fuels will dominate for generations to come. Heating & cooling, agriculture, shipping, air traffic, trucks, cars, construction...the list is endless, and it cannot be fueled by unicorn farts, as the Democrats would have us believe.

I do have one Harry. I live off grid. Happy now?

  • Some laptops have solar panels built into them, such as the Samsung NC215S, which was the first laptop to do so in 2011. The NC215S's solar panel could produce up to 5 watts of electricity, allowing the laptop to run for one hour for every two hours in the sun.

to sealybobo 's point.

of course the children want to save the world, today, at any cost and are not too shy to say so.

an adult environmental policy is aspirational, and does not require the kind oll or nothing zeal of "burn baby burn"

so you dont use any public utilities, such as electricity, water, gas, and sewer systems?.....

China's and India's per capita emissions are well below US per capita emissions. And China is spending significantly more on renewable energy than we are.
