My dad was an asshole of epic proportions. I've always been glad my mom had the courage to divorce him in an era where that wasn't totally common.My father was a sick may he roast on hell.

I attribute my Christian faith for ability to love and care and a desire to be known for doing good and doing no harm. I want to be an honorable, ethical, intellectually honest person and do try to live up to my standards.I won't allow myself do things that would make my father ashamed of me. Even though he passed years ago his wise teachings still rule my actions.....With a bit of adjusting here and there to suit the times of course but the basics of what I learned from him still apply.

I find it more than a bit telling that a lot of our more left-leaning members are avoiding this thread.Devotion to my wife and adult kids. I don't lie, cheat or steal ever. I help people whenever I can. So maybe that makes me a "good person" depending on your definition of the term.
